Guys I am going to throw my name into the hat for the U21 team. Simple reason is we need to have experienced USA based managers running out clubs. Plain and simple. I will be soliciting help from all of you to recommend your players, but as any owner knows, we all would love to have our players represent our country.
I have no doubt some of my opponents may have a longer tenure than I do, but let's have some national pride, right?
I have been playing SK for over 4 years, and have steadily moved my team up the ladder to finally reaching the major league this season. I feel I would have made it before, but few will argue A.4 has been the toughest A league for years now.
Anyway, I figured I would give this a try, especially seeing the lack of USA representation in the candidates. Thanks.

I think you ran last season, which means this isn't the first time you have shown interest.
Are you willing to spend the time to get better at tactics to compete against some of the best managers in the game?

also would you be willing to join the u21 ass. and post line ups before the match for us addicts to discuss?

and keep going the future u21 players thread for guys who come up for sale. I really like that and intend on buying some guys next year
@dag, I put my name in there for about 30 minutes, and pulled it out well before the election, and it was was for the very reason you stated, I did not want to put the time in, so yes, I will make that commitment. On top of all that, the fact I am going to have to be more proactive with them in the ML, I am going to have to continue the creativity. I have no issue posting lineups, this is OUR team, I want the input.
@Gaz I will work with it, but I would like to ask you to help me out with it, someone who takes advantage of it, would be the perfect assistant to do it. How's that sound for you?

Which tactic do you prefer? 2+1-3-4, 2-4-4 or 3-3-4 ?
I have mostly used a 3-2-3-2 with two holding midfielders, but I don't really think that is a fair question since I do not know where my talent may lie.
If the team is more attacking 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 more defensive either the above or a 5-3-2, and if it is lacking striking options i am not opposed to a 4-5-1 or a 5-4-1.
I am not sure what a 2-4-4 would accomplish, unless you meant a 4-4-2, boring but a possibility.

strong in defense and strikers, weak in midfield and keeper
and sadly still nobody really stepping up to the plate to take on the goalkeeper training position
we definitely need a decent midfield though, if we can just get slightly better midfielders we would definitely be a contender for top 20

oh then a 5-1-4 Dag, thanks for the info.
@Llama, I am hoping vovo steps up, but it is a pretty big sacrifice to train keepers, unless you dedicate yourself to only buying field players that need pace.

Hm...that's funny considering I just bought 20 new players who only need pace...
Sadly I also bought a young keeper who is pretty godly and is being scouted by the German NT...But after I sell off my striker trainees I will easily be able to afford a USA trainee keeper if need be. If I do that though he may just be playing friendlies...which would be sad and take a toll on me getting to A league as quickly (which apparently is required to run for NT)
;)

I am not sure how dagwood keeps an eye on the USA youngsters on the transfer market. I would like to help with this thread actually, but I'm not sure if you need access to the national team database to do it effectively.....
@gaz, Dag has offered his support to me as well, so we will get it all sorted out, but it is pretty easy to search for USA players and max age 21 on the TL.
haha, so it is. Cant believe i never noticed the nationality option before...i guess i never used it. This guy is a nice option for a keeper trainer maybe. He's up for sale for 125 K. I will help you out if you win. That said, I would still rather vote for Llama should he decide to switch to u21.

He's kinda old for immediate U21. But potential if trained in keeper for like 2-3 seasons..
