The guy who just spoon fed me my lunch had one player named Fuk and another was Wuss, other than that there was nothing remotely funny about that freaking game.
2010-08-12 04:48:11
So you got beat by a fuk n wuss?
2010-08-12 05:21:38
it is not how many times you shoot, it is how many get in the net....
yes, your team was ALOT faster then mine however Singer was able to get behind your defenders and put it in the net.
the second goal I about blew a gasket.

EDIT- and I forgot to play my best defender. the one goal you made was against the 'mistake' defender.

give that man a cigar shirley.

and now I just realized that I'm probably going to lose every single game that matters for the rest of the season by at least 3 goals and then get auto-relegated. Yay!

tis wrist-slitting season here in Novi-land.

And I was thinking that it's the number of shots that wins the match. Doh!

My points were you lose this match 9 out of 10 times with the game stats as they were and that the carding in Sokker looks very random.

Particularly the latter point is sad, because it a) happens very often (at least in my matches); b) has a huge impact on the results (particularly when you get red carded in the first half); c) there is nothing to prevent it (no Take-it-easy-boys-button) and d) you can't really react to it (other than putting a player in the hole who is now missing somewhere else).

9 out of 10 times? maybe 8 of 10....

a) agreed
b) agreed
c) agreed
d) agreed - this last point is the one the is the worst. I played a guy and his Central Defender left the match and my strikers had a field day against his 2 wingbacks ... the remaining players should edge over and all but strikers edge back to cover help cover when a defender or midfielder position is left open.

Thats why you have to set orders to fill in a midfielder or something into that defensive position.
2010-08-12 17:28:22
Right. Which means that you now have a hole in the midfield (because you can't adjust your tactics).
2010-08-12 18:12:29
you got a red card you are going to have a whole somewhere.
2010-08-12 18:22:19
That's exactly my point: A red card in Sokker is so damaging (more than in RL?!), because you cannot change your tactics to close any holes. You can only close a hole by opening another somewhere else on the field. Plus, the benefit of putting a MF in a defensive position is usually very limited (my defenders are better at defending than my midfielders) and there is no way of subbing the midfielder with a defender under the condition that he's playing out of a midfield position.

Wow, I got a freebie win from FC Tampa that was quite unexpected.
2010-08-12 18:34:41
I have orders set and it has helped me out in the past. I don't get many red cards but When I have gotten them I move 1 of my 2 defensive CMs back to that spot. I play with 5 in the back, 3 mids, a winger and i forward. So I take the defensive mid on the side with the winger to minimize holes.

I would much rather have all my defensive positions covered than have a big hole for forwards to run through, and my defensive mids still have at least formidable defending.
2010-08-12 18:50:57
Tampa would probably support my statement that there are too many red cards in Sokker: He got 2 defenders sent off within 3 minutes in Sunday's league match against me. (Interestingly it helped him somewhat, because afterwards my wingers were always offside.)
2010-08-12 18:52:48
Try to play a defender with formidable defending against an ML-striker. It does not help ... as I can tell you from repeated experiences last season.
2010-08-12 19:33:23
Well considering he's down to 10 players with 2 on the market I think you chased him out of the game.
2010-08-12 20:12:53
That's why you train defending on your strikers

so when you get a redcard, you can drop a striker into that back position and he is adequate to defend plus you don't open any slots because in reality dropping a forward and putting in a forward is probably what would happen.
