Well it's that time of the year again :)
I'm sure you all know my talk but I'll go ahead and give a recap of my skills and faults in the game of sokker.
You all know that I'm in B league but I feel this comes a lot more from my lack of skills not needed to be NT coach, I will explain here:
Where I have failed in the past:
-Training: For a decent amount of time I wasn't active enough in this game and therefore my training simply failed. I also was unable to purchase trainees at a good transfer price since I didn't know how much players were worth so I ended up overspending. However, as of the beginning of this season I have reformatted my whole training plan and now I keep up to date on it and I have a very good idea of where I want my team to be and where I want it to go.
There has been huge debate about my bank account and the MAIN reasons that I don't throw it all out on a team right now are listed below:
1) The beginning of this season was the first time that I'd really gone out of my way to buy a full new team of trainees. I was very uncertain of transfer prices and the last thing I wanted to do was make the same mistake I made in hattrick and spend millions and millions on a new team only for it to be completely not worth it and end up hurting my team more than helping it. Anyways in this game I figured I would drop anywhere from 100K-500K roughly per trainee. Towards the end of the season when I started to feel more comfortable with my transfer market trading, I started to spend up to a million per trainee.
2) I'm not ready to move to A league yet. My team just made it back into B league and all of my players are babies. Plus my league is VERY competitive (Marauders FC just won this season and his last average mark was 59.7, but thankfully he has promoted). However, the others amongst the top are also scoring easily over 50 and if for some reason I try to promote too quickly when my players are too young, I could get stuck in B league and not get the financial boost I need that I would get from promoting.
3) I am in no danger right now. I knew I had no chance of being in the bottom 2 in my league, and I knew I would play a promotional match, so everything is going fine for me, no need to risk anything.
-Transfer market: I already explained this mostly up there but I had failed many times in the transfer market from overpaying for people and when it came time to sell, I was making no profit at all or just enough to cover the wages that I paid the player the whole time they were with my team.
Anyways, enough of the negatives, because in my mind those have nothing to do with coaching the US NT
Pros:
I recently was the assistant coach for the USA U21 NT, and helped coach us to 2nd place in our group so we can now advance. Hopefully fla can come into this thread and vouch that my help was useful.
-Scouting: I have more time on my hands and I spend more time on this game than anyone else, and I will use it to scout as far back as I need with a team. And when I say I scout a team I don't always mean I just scout a team, but I scout each player. When planning for the U21 games I would watch matches 3-4 times each simply so I could focus in on what every player was doing. I wouldn't just suggest that we use a winger in a game, I would suggest him to the side with the slower pace (that I scouted) and how offensively or defensively to play him.
-Player picking: Along with fla I would help pick out the players I saw best fit for every match. I have learned a lot from him and Dag about how much form affects players, where defenders need more pace or more passing, etc, and I will use this information to help guide the US NT
-Tactics: I love tactics. The only problem is that my team is training pace right now so when you have a bunch of players with adequate pace vs an opponents players with outstanding pace, there's only so much you can really do. If your players miss 1 tackle, there's no chance of ever catching up. I have done things to try and prevent this like stacking defenders close enough to cover for each other but then they can spread the ball and in the end it really just isn't good to be with such a disadvantage of pace. The NT however will not have this problem. Yes other teams maybe have divine over a Magical or something but as long as I have beyond the basic skills on players I will be able to make it work.
I look forward to the challenge and I hope you vote for me. As always I am available for questions.

OMG that is huge!!!!
and when I have like an hour I'll take the time to read your gibberish. :)

Well I figure the bigger your welcome speech the better your chances are at winning the world cup
seems to be some direct correlation to it in the past.

First of all there is no Utopian skill in this game! This isn't hattrick. So how are we supposed to trust you with the team if you dont even know the skills in sokker! :P I will also not apologize because you said you had 25 M USD and you didn't. And what are you doing with 22M in your bank account? come on man you can get 22 pace trainees at 1M USD each and you'll be at the ML in no time. ( I haven't spent my money because I was in the c league and there was no need too and I'm too lazy too be on the transfer market the whole day hoping that I get a good deal on trainee like I did some years ago..) Also what happens if you don't even qualify us for the next world cup? or what exactly are your plans with the NT?
first, fixed the utopian lol.
second, you're the LAST person that can complain about me having money in my bank account. And I'm sorry it's a few mill away from 25, I didn't mean LITERALLY twice as much as me, just a rough estimate. And I just bought my pace trainees, like I said I didn't trust myself enough to not overpay at 1 mill a piece, but I do have 1 trainee that cost over a mill (and I think I overpayed lol)
third, What happens if I don't qualify us for the next world cup? Ummm I guess then you don't vote for me again or do depending on how you feel? I'm not really planning on not making it but if it happens then I guess I blew my chance? As for my plans for the NT, well I guess the plan is always to shoot for the moon and win the world cup. I'm really excited to get my hands on the NT because at the NT level it really doesn't become about players but more about tactics and finding weaknesses, and thats my specialty. In U21 when I helped coach with Fla it definitely had a lot to do with the players so it was a whole different playing field.

dude, I told you why I had that money in my bank account.. I'm just starting to get interested again in this game! Whenever I have to buy trainees or other positions I will. Also, you're the one that is always saying that your league is too hard to get first place, trust me with that money you have, you can get to the ML...
I wish I knew how ... you made that much money in C- and B-league without having a positive transfer balance. How does one make 150k each week profit in the lower leagues?
you must have had no decent coaches or a junior school i guess?
I honestly built up a good amount of money when I was in the lower leagues. I had one good main coach and 2 cheap solid assistants and my B team was horrible but I trained pace and made some money. It does not surprise me at all that he has that much because I probably could have if I didnt spend recklessly.
For about 10 seasons my junior school only had 2-3 slots
my coaches were bloody awful, I'm guessing my total salaries for coaches didn't exceed 15,000 and I wouldn't be surprised if they were less. Also my player salaries were dirt cheap. Basically I got my sponsorship money, all the money from winning my matches, and then I paid none of it out lol

Ok Mr-L...
You say you are "afraid to overspend" on players. This leads me to a concern. If you do not think you can fairly value a player, how can we be certain you will actually be able to pick the best lineup possible, and take advantage of how the skills interrelate to the other players on the team?
You have my vote, try not to lose it with a bad answer ;)

I can compare players perfectly well
I can't put a price on their head for the transfer market
besides, economical value of a player may not always be the best for the team. Just because I can sell a player for 5 million vs a player who I can sell for 4 million doesn't mean he will fit better on our team in my tactic. I have no doubt in my mind that I can pick players for my tactic, I just can't buy and sell them lol :)

I dunno man. I voted for you last year but reading this thread you are coming across a bit like you have no idea about this game at all
I understand this game just fine
the only thing I struggled with in the past was buying at the right price
but I've been workin on that and once I get rid of all my trainees I'll be buying an allstar team
