I understand this game just fine

the only thing I struggled with in the past was buying at the right price

but I've been workin on that and once I get rid of all my trainees I'll be buying an allstar team

You did not answer my question, and what you did answer is a cop out. You have never had a talented player to choose from. You still have my vote, but I am starting to wonder if a more qualified candidate will enter the race if you keep answering like this...

Are you calling our U21 team untalented?

There are plenty of games that I just the players
2010-11-11 01:47:06
Notsomuch, you concurred my thoughts, maybe on one occasion you gave me some insight.

You know how much easier this would be if you actually won something, by hoarding that money you may have hurt yourself. Vovo has loads more experience, you need to overcome that to win votes.

I got our U21 into the world cup! (partially)

You saw my scouting, my advice that you would follow, my advice you didn't follow, how most of my advice matched with dags, you of ALL people should know best

dude relax... giving advice isn't the same thing as executing it either... like they said "its easier said than done" anyone can give some pointers dude but that doesnt mean it'll work for all games.. there are times based on the other teams tactic but then they switch it and I lose, that doesn't make me a noob... that makes it just a manager error because you're never gonna always guess the perfect tactic... especially with these random red card/injuries occuring to the USA! :P

The thing that concerns me is you have never come across any real opposition as a manager. You've been in C and the lower half of B, it is piss easy to win in C and if you are serious in B you can get to the top in a couple seasons. Playing teams that adjust their tactics is when the game becomes fun and more challenging.

As for overspending on players, just don't make an $1M bid on a guy, let the market sort it out. You can easily learn about the value of players by bidding low on a few players and seeing what they sell for.

You seem to have a good system for making money, but why not spend some of it and actually play the game.
2010-11-11 16:13:02
well I'm going to start spending my money after I get done with my current trainees. I dropped a few million already on them so no point in really trying to change it all right now.

and I mean yes I haven't played in a higher league but that's where I feel the U21 experience is helpful. The opposing teams always changed their tactics and fla and I had to plan for that. And yes while fla technically was the one making the tactic, hopefully he'll vouch that I did a lot of scouting and had good ideas to counter them regardless of a change in players or not.

Edit @ von: Yeah and then there are things like red cards and injuries that just screw you over regardless lol

Ok two things...

(1) He is right, you can give all the advice you want, but it is in the making of the tactics that matters. I took your advice under advisement, and it was solid advise, but I did not follow it to a T. I always do something in my tactic new, something that has nothing to do with opponent's tactics, but something that will make my tactic unique versus those in the past. If you could watch my matches with Lakay in the ML you will see I had luck, but I also did something unique. So creativity counts.

(2) Vovo, since you are running against Llama, I think it would be best that you do not post in this thread (and the same for him in yours). I think it is against protocol anyway. Your comments are appreciated, but need to be said in your thread.
2010-11-11 18:17:25
well actually it is allowed now for us to post in each others threads, as long as it's within reason.

And yes of course you had your own touch to it, just like I would have my own unique touch as well.
2010-11-11 18:17:36
I am curious. If I choose to comment here, is it appropriate? Or should all of my comments about Llama's candidacy by contained in my thread about my non-candidacy?
2010-11-11 18:20:39
lol go ahead and comment here :)

it would be very interesting if dagwood deletes all current us tactics and llama gets elected and had to start from scratch. i think the reality of actually controlling high quality players marking over 70 and playing against them would set in; need for tactical precision increases greatly and you really dont have any experience in that sense at all.
2010-11-11 18:53:17
Most of the tactics are Phils, I made some adjustments on the tactics I used.
2010-11-11 19:08:38
well if hes got a variety of quality pre made tactics, most of the job is done already
2010-11-11 19:16:35
Yes there is a wide variety
