I give teams loans with a 10% interest per month ;D interested?
2011-04-08 00:13:17
sheesh I'm only charging 8% per month

at the rate of inflation in the game that prolly not too bad.... in all seriousness though, i do worry about the continued effects of inflation on the game. i wish there could be a true exchange rate. because of the slower growth in america the value of the dollar would stay strong, versus the constant influx of new managers(and starting funds and ticket/sponsor income) overseas. eitherway, in its current stat, prices are going to continue to rise in the game. i'm interested to see what happens in 4-5 real life years.15 more seasons and the prices could get astronomical.
2011-04-08 19:06:47
Yea if we don't get more people in America we're really going to be in trouble down the road...
2011-04-08 19:34:18
i dont see how # of usa users being low is bad for us economically... i have as many supporters / as much sponsor money as anyone else in the world, and we all share the same transfer market so it doesnt matter where new money comes from
2011-04-08 19:38:06
But you forgot about the cup - more teams = more cup rounds = more official matches = more money from stadium. You can get ~250 euro from one cup match so teams from countries like Poland have more income from cup matches compared to teams from smaller countries.
2011-04-08 19:51:23
now theres a good reason
2011-04-08 22:12:54
and those ppl in poland spend their money on us players and polish players equivalently.

Unless you really think the few thousand extra they get a year just from their games is important...
2011-04-08 22:24:44
There is no real inflation. There is a systematic economic problem in the game. There are too many well trained players, so the value of these players has dropped. There is more money available, and people are overspending on trainees. Eventually, folks will realize that they can't make money on training players effectively that way, and the market will crash.

Speaking of crashing, Bill Gates lives in constant fear that Chuck Norris' PC will crash.

If people can't sell their older trained players for good money, then it stands to reason that those good teams can't buy the expensive junior players either. Unless they are making THAT much money off their team through sponsors and tickets.

The constant creation of new teams (who start with money in the bank lead), along with the ongoing rise in income by almost every team as they get better and can raise ticket prices is going to lead to there being more and more financial capital in the game overall. More dollars available overall per user will lead to more willingness to buy players at every price level.

While I agree in the product issue of oversuccessful player development, I don't see how its causing significantly lower prices for those developed players. Regularly seeing $8-12mil purchases, I think, means there is no drop off in value at the middling (and most upper) ages.

I agree, with j&a, the biggest increase in spending can be seen in the juniors. The 17-20 year olds have become way too expensive. Though, one would argue, the adding of the U21 squads and increasing the training ability of the highest end juniors(as well as the status for some of having a U21 player on their squad) created such enhanced demand.

Eitheway, I dont believe prices are coming down, maybe ever again.

I'm just saying compare it over to hattrick. You can buy a trainee for like 250K who is just average, train him up to be decent, and sell him off for like 3 million. It's a guaranteed profit on the player.

Heck I bought 6 striker trainees about a year ago. I paid about 2-3 mill for the 6 of them. I trained them all in Passing and Striker and now they are all formidable/supernatural (in sokker terms thats like formidable/incredible-magical) and will sell for 4.5-5 million a pop at age 23 and 24.

Here is the reasoning behind this imo:
The requirements for a player to be good are too much in this game, or it's just too unreasonable for the player to train in all of the skills with the limited time. This is why good trainees are so expensive, because Talent and skills in everything at a low age is HUGE. However there aren't enough good players that are young so everybody fights over the few who come out and now the price for a stupid average trainee is like 1 million more than he's worth. Then if his talent turns out to be crap he'll turn into a loss despite your training.

Like I was saying, in hattrick you can train his passing and striker and have a pretty solid forward that can put up good numbers. Not only is it easier to just train those 2 skills but it's also easier to pull a youth with just those 2 skills therefore there are more average players that can turn into older guys who can play well and still be sold for a lot. In this game it's like alright to be a decent striker you're going to need pace tech and striker, some passing would be nice, some pm would be nice, and some def would be nice but not necessary (however nobody wants unsatisfactory in those 3 skills really...) Since there aren't enough of these good players being pulled as youngins, everybody fights over the few decent trainees and they end up costing over a million just be to sold over a million.

I wrote this in multiple pieces over the course of 30 minutes so if it doesn't make complete sense and isn't fluent don't get upset. just some random thoughts thrown together in between other activites

So Llama, when you are going to:

1. spend the money
2. stop focusing on who to make money and actually try and win games
3. avoid relegation to C league

In all seriousness you clearly know what you are doing tactic-wise (or so I thought with the help you give me on the U21... but your last league match is making me scratch my head how you lost to a vastly weaker team that you outplayed stat-wise) yet you are not even close to B league promotion.

It is time Llama, buy players that can help you win. Do you realize you can buy like five very goo 32 year old players for about 2.5 million and rocket up to the top of B league by next season while still coddling your trainees??
2011-04-09 18:44:30
1. I'm undecided on that. Right now I am trying to buy a goalkeeper and a striker. I'm pretty close to dropping some money on a NT player right now but I just want to clarify a few things about him first. Also you say I could spend 2.5mill on 32 yr olds and skyrocket to the top but then they just crap out and aren't worth anything and I drop back down. I did that in hattrick and I got to the top of IV and was going to promote until they got injured and became extremely worthless and my team was like bleh and couldn't compete.
2. Stop focusing on who to make money? I'm not quite sure what you mean by that but I think overall in #2 you're just saying start winning and stop caring about a big bank account. Ummm hopefully soon, probably once I find my strikers.
3. I won't relegate, the first games and last games of my season are always against the top 4 people in my group, so I always lose those, now I'm going to win the next 6 games or so and be fine.

In all seriousness you of all people know I am tactically okay, you also know I spend a crap load of time on this game. I would like to point out my last league match

I actually did win 2-0, despite having like a 10 point difference in my favor (so yes the score was low). The reason for that is currently I only have 1 striker. He's not even a striker, he's a winger with solid striker so I made him my striker because he has magical pace and tech. Other than that I have a couple trainees with no pace whatsoever who are young and have like solid/very good striker so they are pretty much worthless. Anyways, my 1 winger/striker guy got hurt for 32 days in my match vs slammmy and so I have nobody to go take any shots.

Good news is I did just make a new tactic last night. I realized that recently my tactics had fallen off because I just wasn't putting enough effort in to the game and my team changed but my tactics didn't so they wouldn't work at all. Anyways we'll see how the new ones work.
