Is there a list somewhere of what secondaries are best for each position? If not, does anyone know what are most important for strikers? Passing? Pace? Technique?? Thanks.
The best thing to do is to get a mentor, I will bump the mentor thread to the top of the forum. several of us are ready to help.
Thanks, and I look forward to it (no up there yet), but could you please answer the question, have a qualifier coming up, debating which striker to play. Thanks!
you've played all season and NOW are asking?
Funny.
But here, let the two week old noob tell you.
Striker attributes are striking, then pace/technique (second/third, which is second depends on who you ask).

Asking now cause I recently bought one!!!
It is between a solid scorer with hopeless pace and technique or one with adequate scoring, pace and technique.
Which is better? the second? right?

Right, the latter.
I'm not being sarcastic here, trying to help: It's kinda common sense from the perspective of would you rather have someone who can't move to get open or get the ball or can't control a pass, but if he did get it would pretty well score 6/10 times, or would you rather someone who can move about as fast as the defenders, can control the ball dribble and scores like 3-4/10 times?

That is why I asked, thanks, did not quite understand the nuances, do now. Cheers.
Try to think of it like this. In general:
Pace: Speed. Everyone needs this.
Technique: Dribbling and catching the ball. So even important in receiving a pass, a fact that is overlooked. Most important for forwards (their 3rd most imp. stat) because they dribble in traffic more than others...
Passing: this helps with, uh... Passing :)
Defense: Tackling and stopping an opponent. Also affects ability to steal the ball wherever you are (including in the midfield or even your strikers stealing ball from opponent's players so can be helpful all over the field.
Playmaking: Making the decision who to pass too or what to do with the ball quickly and correctly. Primary to midfielders (with passing) and also helpful for defenders to some extent (getitng rid of the ball) and forwards (quickly deciding what to do and getting to speed faster).
Striker: Shooting. Mostl imp for forwards, obviously, but winger and offensive mids can also get shots...
All this is in the rules.

yep. I love how this game takes ALL attributes into account. My best striker drove me nuts in my last match because there would be a wide open player in front of the net...and he'd come in on a sharp angle and shoot anyway.
But you know, thats how it is.

actually that's an interesting question. Does anyone have a striker with high playmaking (solid+) who can weigh in on how often they pass to a wide open player versus force a bad shot? Just wondering.
Strikers will, and should, think to shoot, but if there's someone wide open i hope they pass appropriately. I wouldn't know, as my strikers all have shite pm.
I do know that it makes them get up to speed quicker.

yeah, I figure a playmaking striker would make better decisions then a non-PM one.
It's really interesting, actually.

I think that's partially determined by their match orders. ATT players are more likely to shoot and MID players are more likely to pass :P
yes of course. But besides that sometimes atts willpass, and i'm wondering how much the pm skill helps with that decision (horrible shot versus pass to open second forward)
