Subject: I'm bringing new people from HA
islander1 [del] to
All
FYI, I believe two or three new people from Hockey Arena signed up for new teams today: Wyldjasper, Piede, and Wolftep.
LOL, will do.
SLUsaints was leaning towards just ditching the game until a couple hours ago.
I went over some things like how to find coaches, set up tactics, and helped him understand how junior school worked...then we watched our friendly match live and now he's leaning a lot more towards playing the game. He even asked about sponsor costs.
I just think people coming in now during offseason is both a blessing and a curse. Its great for a fresh start to the team, but it is boring as all hell waiting for the new season to start.

Yeah but they can actually win the series in the first season (or be in 2nd place).
Tough to turnover players and buy new ones now tho, so yeah blessing and a curse.

I am here!
Now, someone tell me what to do. I've set up a lineup for my next match, which says it's Aug 2nd. Am I able to get a friendly before then?
The mentor thing sounds like it could work for me. If anyone can send me some basics though, that would be much appreciated.

Also...I registered for the "HockeyArena SK Nooblet Cup". Any specifics on that would be appreciated also.
LOL, nice Wolftep.
Well, if you can load AIM, look me up, screen name Islander 1. I've been leaving it on at work since I joined SK as that was how Guacamole mentored me.
I can help you through the basics of setting up, then you'll get a mentor thats been around here a few seasons to help you with more advanced stuff.
Oh, and that nooblet cup can't start until after all members get eliminated from the US nat cup. I believe you, Rimbaud, and Piede all managed to get into the Cup (basically because you all got demoted B league teams, I'm guessing).
After everyone gets eliminated from it (which should be fast heh) we can then start the friendly cup.
I'm hoping to get 6 or 7 of us from HA in it.

Sounds good Islander. I'll have to see what I can do about AIM.
Rimbaud is in my league. I'd know that Hi Yon name anywhere. haha
Here's a question though, just to be sure I'm going in the right direction. Junior School...I added 2 spots. Anything else I should concern myself with?

Keep 6 spots. Each week (on Saturday) you get anywhere from 1-6 juniors.
My suggestion so far is to always have 6 spots open. However, you won't be keeping most of your youth pulls.
Right now, I have one youth I'm training, so I have 7 spots in the youth school.
Yeah, actually you got lucky you two are in the same league. Could be some friendly competition :)
As far as what else to concern yourself with - yeah quite a bit :) My suggestion would be ot not spend any money - even on coaches using the coach search tool. There's a better way to get coaches, I'll have to explain it to you as soon as we can chat.

Just to reiterate what islander said. PLEASE DO NOT MESS WITH YOUR COACHES TILL YOU TALK TO A MENTOR :)
Islander wasted like 80k, which is a lot for a njub team, because he didn't listen to me when i told him that.

Yeah, yeah.
I actually covered a good bit for Wolife today:
1) How to find and buy the right coaches (and WHEN to do it)
2) How to access the tactics editor. How to create and modify a custom tactic .
3) How youth shcool works, and how to determine if a particular pull is worth keeping or not.
4) I also went over the basics of player evaluation for each position - because he has a CUP match coming up. I didnt get into market values or major detail, because thats better discussed with a vet.
I didn't cover how to set up his training program either - it's not critical for him as he'll go the stamina to start with training route next week . That'll give his mentor time to discuss that more expertly.
Oh yeah, and he bought a full sponsor pack too. Just waiting for it to be activated!

ovcollege will be his mentor.

ovcollege has sent me a mail already.
I am focusing on stamina for now, until I can get some feedback from ovcollege about it. I started him out with some questions on coaching. Well, not questions so much as just reaffirmation of what islander told me earlier. I want to see what his opinions are in comparison.
Plus = Got it, and it was just activated.
