Subject: [U21] Tournament & friendly
I negotiated with him for a while... Evolution said he'd post Teddy for 7mil.
I've got the money, just dunno if I'll see any profit from it.

that's not awful, just too much. I'd keep him long term, but it would take like 40% of my present bank balance.
I'm probably going to end up getting some Polish guy who won't sell for nearly as much because he won't be U21 or future NT player. Not what I'd prefer, but I appear to be permanently financially handicapped.

if you want to make money, you should concentrate on training only 16-18yo players (buying only 16-17), these are the ages where you make a profit, at 18-start of 19 you should sell
if you know what you're doing and what players you should buy, then even if you get a mediocre talent then you will still make a profit...

I had this player for 1.5 month, sold for 3x times what I paid for him and he wasn't talented
and this is what you can make when you're lucky & get a good talent player

honestly I don't know if there was a time to make money as easy as now... the prices were higher 3-4 seasons ago so the profits were bigger, but also the prices for youths were much higher than now

Conceptually I know how. Appreciate you taking the time! Below are just my views personally.
The two issues for me are not wishing to play this way (mercs and using the training spots for youth this way), and the way the population assesses skills on the market (to me) is just misguided. Not much to explain about the first reason, I just like the idea of building my own team. It's not like free agency or contracts is a thing.
About the market...
A guy with more skills (wing, mid, attack, whatever) generally sells for more, even though the way these things are cheesed (subskill low, training easy skills) should be obvious to anyone with half a brain. Except it's not. Additionally, most users don't understand subskill, and the ones who do generally are already wealthy.
Just today I watched a 26 year old winger sell from an A team that had 10 pace and 7 tech....but 16 PM and passing. Dude went for 2 million. That player is garbage. I've watched other mediocre players go for more than this over my seasons. All it takes is two or three owners with money despite having -50 million balances over their long and 'illustrious' careers in Sokker to really want some guy for the price to get insane.
Some of this is definitely my fault. I gambled on trying to win the league with my first gen players when I first began here. Didn't work out. I should be just getting into my second generation's prime now. Instead they are 20-22 now.
I could sell them all for a lot of money, but then I'm stuck doing nothing again for several seasons. Competing tactically is the only thing I really enjoy - the rest of this game is just frustration. USA is a wasteland, there's literally no competition in A leagues anymore. There was when I first began.
In addition, in your case what aides your sales is your name recognition. You sell someone, wealthy people are looking to buy. Prices go up because Borkos is selling him - your track record in this game rightfully universally known and respected in game. Another random owner could sell a player 20% better than a player of yours, and be lucky to see half the money you get.
The market is much too much luck. I could sell a player one day and get 6 million. If I wait one day later? 3 million. Why? Random. The solution to this is setting a min bid, which I almost always do. Deters teams watching though, but typically I will get one bid. Have to list for what you really want.
I find that when it comes to market things, random almost always works against me. Not once have I had a meaningful player get bid warred up well above market value. My luck on the market rivals my luck with youth school. So, like the youth school, I would rather avoid it as much as possible. Everyone says luck will come around, but in my experience in this specific game, that answer is only true for the match engine itself, and nothing else.

Yeah I know it's not for everyone, but I think that especially in smaller countries creating a nice "bag" of money makes wonders, you have more options later on. You don't need a crazy amount like in Poland, which takes up to 10+ seasons of money gathering in order to compete at top for a longer time. ~3 seasons of training-trading and you'd be well set up to play as you wish. Then you could easily build a strong team from scratch and have fun. The trading seasons would be very boring though if training 16yos and looking for talents / bargains is not your thing.
As for the market, yeah it's totally about luck. I mean it's easy to make profit, but the prices are crazy. Zenier that I mentioned: I agree to sell him for ~60% of his end price, I would never guess he can go for so much. Two players I wanted to buy this weekend went for crazy prices as well because I really wanted them and another guy wanted them as well - and we both had money. Honestly I think even 50% of their end-price would already be a very good deal for the sellers.
It comes down to the fact that there are not enough users. Before at deadline there were 10-15-20 users who wanted player X so the prices were rarely bargains and there were many similar players to choose from, so there were not many robberies. Today if you get unlucky there's only 1 guy with money online to buy the players, if you're lucky there are 2 guys with loads of money who want only this player during whole weekend etc.

Agreed.
it's a double edged sword being in a country like this.
in Poland, you literally HAVE to farm for a few years to ever compete in anything past III league. Although (I might be wrong!) you do actually have competition and reasons to try - if you want to.
Honestly I would love a scenario where we got all of the same team quality, because then it would allow me to learn more things tactically. One of the nice things about me trying to half-ass survive with all of these mediocre grandpas is it is allowing me to be creative with tactics. I know the generalities with the wingers, and the 5 at the back...but I love just throwing junk together and seeing what it looks like in arcades and such. Of course I know building the players is a large part of the process. there are a lot of old school US teams who are permanently relegated now because of bad tactics/builds or both. All of the new/good blood is in ML now and although I know I'll only spend one season in A, it'll be next season or the one after (since if I survive this season, I'll just play my kids the following season and relegate then)

Lietuva U21 - USA U21 0:1
I'll admit, I was thrilled at the start of the season, thinking we'd drawn the ball very well, but I thought at least the stronger team in Pot 2 would challenge us. It was easier than I thought. We secured a place in the World Cup in just the fifth week.
However, let me point out one more thing: If Lithuania had been managed by a more experienced coach instead of a Polish one, it might not have been so easy.
I have some bad news.
Elvis Vallow, age 19, has unfortunately been injured for 21 days and will be out of training for at least three weeks. I was planning to play him after this difficult week so he could gain experience and improve his form. Because we don't have a second goalkeeper for the World Cup.
The bad news is that Ian Searles, age 21, has been injured for 21 days.
He will be a top midfielder in the future.

Congratulations, Mustafaatik! Great result. For countries like the USA, qualifying for the World Cup is always a success, especially for teams in pot 3.
Thanks, norbert1987. We need to escape pot 3 in the next qualifiers.
We've earned 270 points this season, climbing to 34th place. But it's not enough.
I'm so happy we made it to the World Cup.
