Subject: what is with all the cheating?

2006-08-14 18:27:52
i think there should be a forum to post cheating players

I get to report the 30 year old going for $150k. MEMEMEMEME.

PS I wonder if any update is provided to the person that reports the dubious transfer.
2006-08-14 18:29:46
or maybe offer monetary awards for caching cheaters
2006-08-14 18:37:30
does anyone know who the moderaters are for the US?
2006-08-14 18:40:08
Guacamole is the official USA moderator.

On another note, to report any suspect cheating, you click on transfers on the player, then dubious then write the note you want.

Mods can't actually deal with cheating transfers, if you do that it goes to the admins who can.

have any teams ever been banned for cheating?
2006-08-14 18:47:29
Loads. Too many to count.
2006-08-14 19:02:40
LOL, this from the guy who allows his players to run in place and not actively play in friendly matches for fear they will get hurt.

At least thats what your brother told me. :p

That's not cheating that's asset protection. I can't do it because I prefer watching a good match, but there's nothing wrong with that.

I noticed Wincenty Czabaj's transfer as well, put him on my observe list, and plan on clicking the dubious link as soon as the player is sent away/brought in. Most of the time it involves two clubs from the same country/region.

I've turned in 6 suspicious transfers so far, and on 5 of them both teams were banned. I wouldn't suggest trying to cheat like this

Actually, I have one formation called "Run and Hide." It allows me to take one player that I'm cross training (e.g. when I train tech to defenders I can dump my #1 forward in the corner and keep him safe.)

The interesting thing is that my b-team is so good that I typically do just fine in friendlies regardless.

Wanna play sometime? I'll create a tactic called "crush simpletons who listen to Guacamole" It will be a version of kill-the-man-with-the-ball guaranteed to hurt YOUR best player.

The practice of protecting my best players from unnecessary injury is the same as NFL teams not playing their starters more than is absolutely necessary in the pre-season (and not at all in the last pre-season game). That's not cheating. It is safe.

Lakay - thanks for the understanding. You've been bitten by the injury bug in this game, too, it appears.

Another thing that will identify them as the same person is the starting IP address used to login for each user.

Typically if they are the same, along with same country, same region, same usernames, etc... this will indicate cheating.

that doesn't always work... kids at colleges/ that live together with lots of friends that play will have same IP addresses... I have already gotten screwed with this, got fined for "controlling two teams" when all I was doing was asset protection, as someone called it earlier, by convincing one of my friends who no longer wanted to play Sokker to keep at it and just schedule and then throw friendlies against me [full training, no injuries :) ]... too bad we lived together and ended up getting fined $200k for this despite numerous appeals AND even a warning to the sokker admins beforehand that there were multiple users with same IP address

It's cheesy and not exactly a hallmark of integrity, is what I feel it is.

Of course he's got a right to do it. It's his team.

If you don't want to risk the guy getting hurt in the friendly, don't put him in there.

I'm well on my way to long term success in HA, and Sokker will be no different. Once I fully get a feel for the sport of soccer itself, I'll be even better.

As for this, my first season, all I can do is dominate my C league and promote, and I like my chances under Guac's tutelage ;-).

So run your 'I got a head start on you so my team pwns you' smack now...because I will catch up someday. It's just how I'm wound :)
