I think that is a gamblers fallacy. Whether a skill drops in each week is independent of what happened in previous weeks imo.

My understanding, at least, is that age is the primary/only factor involved. So at 32 years old his odds of getting drops are lower than say, a 34 or 35 year old. Amount of drop is still completely variable. I 'think' it is just probability of a drop that changes as players get older and older.

You are correct in that previous results have no effect on future possibilities.
