What does the general appraisal for the head coach matters for? I am training passing and he is unearthly passing. He costs a lot, should I get a lower general appraisal with unearthly passing and weaker levels of other attributes?
About coaches:
Two types of training:
Specific Training: the chosen one;
Three factors affect speed of specific training:
1) age like hattrick (because players need to be more welll rounded in this game I do take trainees as old as 22, if they have good secondary skills. They'll be the first one I sell though.
2) Talent- Hidden attribute of the player (You have Plus or Sokkermon, you'll be able to track it)
3) Skill level - low skills rise faster
ex: a young highly talented player will rise from average to adequate in two weeks, from good to solid in 3 weeks...
General training: all players who played in a game receive it. Trains slower than specific but allows for improvements in skills that are not being trained specifically.
Main coach: needs to be "unearthly" in the (specific) skill being trained. High rating in relevant secondary skills do help, but too expensive for new teams. As you win games, fill and upgrade your stadium and promote, you'll be able to afford better coaches. General appraisal does not matter for the main coach.
Assistant Coaches: They help with both specific and general training, only general appraisal matters for them. Three of them is the maximum, stay with three if you can, cut down to two of them if you have too.
YOUTH COACH
Very important only general appraisal matters:
1) Start with an excellent/formidable youth coach
2) Only keep youths that will reach "solid/very good" skill coming out of the school based on about 5 weeks per pop. Use Plus or Sokkermon and it will be easy to track talent for both youth and players.
3) Timing is important, when you have a few players coming out at about excellent/formidable upgrade to an outstanding/incredible youth coach. You can have your youth graduates pay for your better Youth coach and you can even keep the talented ones.

General appraisal does NOT matter IN THE SLIGHTEST for a head coach. It's irrelevant.
The benefit of having a coach with multiple high skills is that you get much more pops from the general/osmotic training.
Ie if you're training passing, but have a coach with unearthly passing and unearthly pace, you'll get pops in pace much faster than you would with one with only high passing... Mebbe one random pop in pace per trainable (relatively talented and young) player in about 12 weeks. With the single-skilled coach, at least double that i'd GUESS.
Another benefit for multiple high stats is you can have the same coach for multiple trainig. When i used to train midfielders, this was my head coach:
Simon Milburn, age: 65,
wage: 18 650 $
club: Babes, country: USA
outstanding coach
Training effectiveness:
excellent of stamina, poor of keeper
magical of pace, very good of defender
unearthly of technique, incredible of playmaker
unearthly of passing, formidable of striker
I'd use him to train passing and technique, and would also get nice secondary training in pm).

Thanks guys.
This is my current coach, except the price he is awesome...;>
Daniel Shelton, age: 43,
wage: 32 875 $
club: F.C Tampa, country: USA
brilliant coach
Training effectiveness:
unearthly of stamina,
incredible of keeper
outstanding of pace,
unearthly of defender
unearthly of technique,
incredible of playmaker
unearthly of passing,
outstanding of striker
I am planning on keeping him and monitoring my pops closer...

That guy's expensive, as you know. Be careful with your finances. Most teams in B-league don't have nearly that good a trainer. The keeper skill porbably costs 5-6k and is really is wasted, too.
The wage is acceptable for a brilliant coach, if you can afford him keep him.
In B-league 32K might be around half your sponsor money but if you have excellent/formidable juniors coming soon you should be alright.

Right now I am on 10,000 plus but I am losing some money every week. I have some good juniors so I am not concerned....I am rebuilding my midfield this year and trying to make it. My stadium is built so I try and have a good coach that will help my young players to get better....
I'm not saying he was expensive for a brilliant coach, i was questioning his finances supporting a better coach than i had before today.
Yes, I knew what you meant.
I saw your Magical coach, last time I tried I ended up with a brilliant one. Now I have two brilliant coaches, my Youth coach and my main coach because the 2nd brilliant I pulled had nice striker secondaries.

Your main coach's level doesn't matter much (as you know). I just pulled a coach with unearthlies in all but three. Because his keeper is only poor, he's no better than incredible. But the rest is so good, I don't care....
if by 'doesnt matter that much', you mean 'is completely irrelevant' then yes, youve got it!
