I started implementing mine around end of season 72. Works well for me, perhaps I can find few users that will implement it.


Once again, our club has absolutely nothing to do with the national team.

Because, if we are going to draw that comparison, my club has won at least one title in each of the last 12 seasons, with the sole exception of last season, when I lost the US Cup final. Furthermore, over the last 14 seasons, I have consistently remained among the top 3 in the MLS, achieving success against both previous generations (Ciomocio, Atlantic, Dinamo) and the most recent ones (Habib, Sebek, Islander, Tad, Blue, You, etc.).
And I believe I will be able to maintain a top3 spot for at least three more seasons, therefore, I am confident that my model works very well (with or without american players)


First we need to educate Our users on coaching staff and training. Then we can send them Youth that already comes out of YS with undiscovered talent or unfortunate skill distribution. Once they learn how to make profit they can open their YS academies. Otherwise opening YS might be a nail in the coffin for many. I opened mine late, under Sebek's persuasion, I was planning to wait another season.

I believe the youth academy should be opened as soon as possible. It is a sacrifice that pays off in a short time. And believe me: in all these years (20 seasons), I have only managed to generate 15 million through the sale of my youth players, and the truly significant sales only materialized after I had dedicated a considerable amount of time to player development.
In fact, my own net balance is negative by 5 million (20 million in costs versus 15 million in revenue); however, I see many cases here, like yours, that are very, very positive. And for the sake of the national team, it is crucial that more youth academies are opened.

As far as Your results go, once again, I congratulate you. You did a fantastic job and I won't be belittling Your achievements. You are an excellent coach, great sport and very competitive individual.

We climbed from 44th to our current position of 36th.

We gained 389 ranking points over 51 matches, an average of 7.63.

A few years ago I would have said something like you should open a YS after 2 seasons or more after expanding your stadium and making your first substantial transfer. I am biased because I started this game when it was only a weekly match on Sunday so you had to have solid finances first.

Now most users start in A league and can easily afford an incredible youth coach. No one will ever be as lucky as Nick. My understanding is youth coach skill effects the accuracy of skill estimations and not overall skill. There is no shortage of foreign managers willing to test skills of 16 to 17 year olds.

I think we need more quantity since youth players are a talent lottery otherwise we cannot compete with Pot 1 or Pot 2 countries consistently

If You believe that youth academy should be open asap and that’s Your philosophy, then what have You done about it in past 3 seasons?

My "less than spectacular stint" with 0 experience and weaker team appears to be holding up pretty well compared to Your most recent results.

Especially when You take under consideration opportunities I was able to generate against much stronger opponents, quality of the teams I faced and quality of USA NT back then and now.

Also my most recent club results are better than Yours, both in ML and Champions League.

And I can achieve then while what You call "sacrificing the management of my own club just to contribute a player to the national team"

All of above lead to a conclusion that between two of Us, I'm the better manager

Generally speaking, you can say that you have a problem of "wealth", which means that whoever is elected will be a good choice :)

General appraisal

General appraisal of a coach depends on the sum of his individual marks for training each individual skill. It is very important for assistant coaches - the higher their appraisals the more efficiently they help the main coach. Additionally, for your sub junior school you should select a coach with the highest possible general appraisal. The higher their appraisal, the quicker your juniors will improve. The training of Team-work is solely dependant on your coaches general appraisal, mostly based on the head coach but affected slightly by the assistants.
