It won't change anything in terms of getting rich/broke, you will gain +/- same amount with additional IC games. They just don't want another inflation.

Money wise, people who will get out of group should get even more money due to prizes for achievements in IC (no idea how high and for what achievements, whether it will be for 1/4, 1/2 and final or also 1/8, 1/16)

I thought the same thing.

Basic calculation:
3 * 100 = 300
4 * 80 = 320

We went from 3 to 4 games per week. Taking away 20%, it's almost the same thing.

OK, thanks for correcting me, as usual :)

Well it's not that easy

a. you're not going to play home game every week (6 group games, 3 home, 3 away) so it's 3*100 vs 3x 80 + 1x 40 = 300 vs 280

b. you're guaranteed only 3 home games in IC, if you get eliminated in group then that's it - second half of seasons it's then 3x 100 vs 3x 80 / 300 vs 240

teams that get far in IC will be getting higher income (especially with additional prizes for reaching latter stages), but teams that get eliminated in group will end up with lower ticket income than now. It won't be a terrible difference but there will be a difference.

In the championship, we also only play half of the games at home. You can consider that I put 0.5 in evidence in the multiplication. Obviously, it's not that simple, but it's just to give an intuitive perspective that it's not a big change.
