Tech is holding the ball as well as collecting it.
A player with low tech is also more likely to fumble the ball and spend more time not doing a lot with it.
Higher the tech is, the less of their pace they will lose when dribbling the ball aswell.

It could be the tech,
I know for sure now that form affects shooting accuracy for strikers. It's possible that low tech does also.

I believe it does, to an extent. Just a relatively unfounded belief though.
When I look for strikers, I look for the best combination of striking, pace, and tech. I don't think striking skill alone is the be-all end-all for scorers.
This isn't a one-trick pony game like Hat Trick,

Form on those strikers doesn't look to be an issue there. Form definitely does matter.
My 4th best striker has been putting away a lot of goals lately due to be in divine form. My top striker hasn't been doing so well and is in the lower levels of form.

Tech helps you catch a pass and get to speed quickly.
My strikers underperformed hideously this weekend. I should fire them both.

Did you watch my game or are you being a smartass?
I definitely also agree with the tech importance. the fact remains that the two of them got 12 shots away WITHOUT fumbling the ball or losing handle. I mean, there is bad luck in missing the net but this is ridiculous.... I was hoping that someone would have SOME kind of theory about how I missed all the shots.
I'm (against PM training needs) training tech for a few weeks, just in case. But I don't get 12 shots, no goals.

I think it's worth noting that a mix of equal skills is probably superior to really high striker and average tech and pace. I haven't watched your match, but it seems from watching other matches in my league that despite having better shooters, my opponents aren't finding the back of the net because their strikers aren't often enough getting into good positions for shots. So they're getting shots off, but they're not "quality" shots.
My starting lineup of strikers are 3 very goods. But they finish their chances because they often find themselves either in one on one situations or are set up by my wingers right in the box. If your strikers are often shooting from really tough angles or from really far out, your success isn't going to be that great.

Okay, after watching your match, here're my thoughts.
I don't think your tactic is very effective. You're extremely susceptible to getting burned up the wings, and since all of your plays are coming up the middle, your strikers are going to have to go through the CDs, which they aren't particularly well suited to do. Because they play so close together, you'll notice that they were effectively covered by just the two CD's, leaving his wingbacks to support the wingers.
With the type of strikers you have, you can't rely on them beating CD's to through balls, beating the CD's to the outside and back in, or just going straight through them. To get them to score consistantly, you're basically going to want them set up in the box, with your tactic set up to either send crosses into the box or your attacking IM's to get passes to them *in the box*. If they're not in the box when they receive the pass, they're going to either get the ball taken or they're going to shoot from too far out.
You had 12 shots, but you didn't have 12 *good* shots.

I'm not sold on covering far outside the wings yet. I've yet to see matches with effective cros field passes from the corners, even in A league matches.
Besides, most of these moron strikers won't dribble towards the net if they get past a defender and get open. they'll stay ona straight line and shoot it 10 feet wide.
I think he got decent shots, but just came really, really close on numerous ones.

If you want to see wingers making plays, watch some of my matches. All of my plays, pretty much, come from the wings.
I havent seen anyone score effectively from crosses but myself, its pretty much the only way I score. You really dont need to defend against it unless ur against MAYBE some select A teams and only a few ML teams as well.
