SLAMBOT [del] to All
We had a hard fought, very evenly matched game thismorning vs Columbia, in which we drew 1-1 with them. In the other match played, #1 Latvia tied the last place Swiss, keeping the gap between us and them at only two points. Heres the current table layout:

Team Matches Wins Draws Losses Goals Points
1. Lietuva 6 4 1 1 20-6 13
2. USA 6 3 2 1 13-7 11
3. Colombia 7 2 4 1 8-14 10
4. Brasil 6 2 1 3 12-16 7
5. Schweiz 7 0 2 5 8-18 2

Columbia seems right on our tails, but due to our odd amount of teams in the group, they still have a bye week to sit out, so they only have 1 match left to earn points and catch us. We have upcoming matches against the Swiss, and then the last Jleague game with #1 Latvia. If we win our game next weekend, we will have a chance to overtake the first place position, giving us a better position in World cup elimination matches, avoiding the powerhouse teams like poland for a round or two.

I thought Colombia had it made when they beat Lithuania, but then they drew the Swiss. They seem to be an enigmatic squad.

Was an interesting game. I liked the US tactic. But when you sacrifice an area of the field to play a true winger, you really need the winger to contribute. Lochrie is a nice player, but he had an off day in this one. If he's on I think you get full points.
