Subject: "tactical dicipline"

2006-11-08 20:07:47
hey, I'm with you Havy in regards to this TD crap.

I understand the counter-arguments, and why its in the game, but it's simply taking a portion of the FUN out of the game. The fun of devising tactics to beat equal or superior teams talent wise.

This won't really affect the better teams, or teams that have been around longer and can afford expensive head coaches....

but it'll sure as hell adversely affect me, and that detracts from the fun level of this game.

yeah, the entire concept of starting everyone with tragic team work is questionable. Why not solid or something in the middle...at least?

Comparing the skills and values of players in the various leagues, the discrepancy is WAY more than one professional team versus another. I'm looking at ML as being professional and the others being significantly worse.

With regards to the TD, all of those levels are 50% of what they will be in 4 weeks. I'm making an assumption tere that the top team in poland has a magical coach and it's now tragic. So TD, which is (exp + teamwork) / 2 is currently (exp + 0) / 2, and in a few weeks will be (exp + 15) / 2

So all of those adequates and averages will be excellent and formidible.

The initial values for experience should be based on the experience of the player = done.

Team work would have been more difficult to compute since it's week-by-week dependant on which coach was head coach that week and that data isn't stored, so greg decided to baselien at 0 since it gains quickly.

The rich get richer to compete with the rich, and the poor continue to compete with the poor.

Greg told people that teamwork will be quickly trained.

Those things happen in every game I have watched .. even in Polish Top league.

Gimme a break, dude. Professional players in every sport make STUPID moves every week.

Professional players in every sport make STUPID moves every week.

Consistently and repeatedly? Hardly.
2006-11-08 20:22:36
i don't get consistent and repeated stupid moves from anyone. I have what i feel is an appropriate level of playmaking for the position they play in (ade-solid for DEF, formid orso MID, and ave-ade for ATT).

I get mebbe 4-4 moves that are pretty bad each game, and mebbe 1 or 2 tops that i think are STUPID each week.

Looking at the eagles this season or the flyers, i'm doing better than they are from that way of looking at it.

LOL Eagles? Flyers? Those aren't professional franchises :)
2006-11-08 20:23:51
this coming from a team named after the islanders?
2006-11-08 20:24:53
who's in last place, bitch :)

And my team is the Cosmos. 1st place in all of C league. Thanks :)

(of course, in B2 that probably makes me 3rd next season, I have some work to do!)

please. your team is about to go bankrupt, and beat a bunch of bots. Tell me when your A team can beat a real team's subs. :)

And re the flyers in last place... They've also contended in the playoffs most of my adult life. And the eagles, before last year, were the single most winningest team in all of football since 2000. I can't really complain, although a ring would have been nice.
2006-11-08 20:28:12
yeah, but I beat those bots better then any of the other 256 teams in C league :)
2006-11-08 20:29:09
oh yeah, and the Flyers are your definition of 'always a bridesmaid, never a bride' . Actually, so are the Eagles. LOL

Annnnyway, about TD...

I gave some input about the default value on the staff forum, greg will read but probably won't change i'd think.

Imho it should have defaulted for everyone with teamwork at either solid or default it to the level of the head coach, as he said it would normalize quickly anyway...

Let me be the first to say, "Thanks" for inquiring or better yet, bringing up this concern expressed by the users.

I know it isn't much and will probably fall on deaf ears, but at least the effort was made.

Now if we can convince you to start helping us non-plus users and re-new the USA Weekly stats threads you used to post on Mondays (as you continue to provide on Global for the World Stats), that would just be "AWESOME"!!!! :P

They did change the way dribbling keeper and the effect of experience and "team work" (experience with team) was gonna work with the "tactical discipline" (the name itself as well). All of that was based on user feedback.

I did recognize that after the original announcement and subsequent responses on the Global thread and then seeing the announcement amending it this morning.

I just know not to set my expectations too high. This way, no real disappointment will be felt if it does fall on deaf ears.
