what is the differance in playing if I put a striker with striking orders vs a striker with defending or midfield orders? less shooting? Passing? No differance?

In general, a striker with def or mid orders will look to shoot less and pass more. Sorry I can't be more specific as I've never experimented with it.

I have played with 2 strikers with the MID order in my last 4 ML matches. All I can say is that having them as MID did not hurt me too much as I won all 4 of those games. I notice that one of my strikers does pass a lot more, but they are usually good passes to my other striker.

Ive had a striker (set at mid) on a break away 1v1 with the keep, but instead of shooting it he turned around and passed it backwards.

He had solid playmaking and very good passing, so it makes me wonder if he didnt have decent playmaking, would he have NOT THOUGHT about passing it, trying to make a play?

The striker I am talking about that generally makes good passes for me is a weak playmaker with good passing. He tends to pass a lot more than he shoots. The scoring machine at the other end of the passes is average playmaker, very good passing.

Maybe the lower PM helps?

That passing backwards (like to your defenders that are still back in the other half of the field) when you're on a breakaway needs to stop. That's garbage.

Completely agree with your assessement.

I have my forwards on MID order for technique weeks. One of them has decent PM and his game goes to hell (ala the back pass). The other has lousy PM and his play is hardly affected.

Right, because i think low playmaking will keep his tunnel-vision going right for goal

so my average and weak playmaking strikers are not "smart" enough to try and pass backwards?

thats the theory
