Subject: CUP
I don't think I have ever made the final 4 of anything before.
Now comes the question. Training or cup? Thus far I have not had to sacrifice any training in order to win in the cup. But my current cup lineup probably will not cut it in the final 4.

Interesting that none of the 4 remaining teams play each other next week.
I'm playing Enforcers again on Sunday. If I draw Pwn next week, I'll be playing him back to back.
The other good news: if I lose next week somebody other than Cats and myself will finally win the cup.

I played all my trainees this week, I got lucky against Enforcers.
Training or the Cup? For me it's easy, I've won the cup twice so I'll go with training.

Yeah, I was talking about none of the teams that won tonight play each other this sunday.
In a few seasons I may find out how wrong I was but at this moment I don't understand your attitude. What do you guys play for in the game? To train or to win? According to an inexperienced manager sacrificing a few weeks of training (partially) is not a bad price for a chance to win a trophy. I would like to be in such a position.
As much as I understand the concern for the future training cannot be the goal. It's rather a means of reaching the goal.

Since I'm so close to the final, I plan on making some half time subs if things are not going my way.
That is how I have been playing throwout the entire cup. I have just been lucky to be ahead at halftime every week.
i actually play to both to win but to train at the same time....what i mean is i have older trainees for the sunday matchups......and younger trainees for the wednesday matchups......
but thats just me.....
but thats just me.....
I play to win official games (League & Cup), friendlies not neccessarily.
You don't play to lose, do you?

Making fun of the former NY Jets head coach.
Edwards? KC chiefs coach now.

I think people (like jonandabby) that claim they aren't trying to win in the cup are just making excuses for being outmanaged and outplayed. Cup games = more income and more prestige, so it's self evident that remaining in the cup is preferable to being out. If they can't manage to win by mixing in younger and older trainees, they just aren't all that good.
Hey benmor, i don't try to win the cup :)
I've never played a starter in the cup where it'd make me lose a minute of training.
It's not like he or i are TRYING to lose, it's just we don't do anything to try to win that would jeopardize the training.
Then again, recently with my arena and the fact i can make it deeper, cup revenue actually starts to get meaningful, so i may rethink this slightly next season.
EDIT: Oh, and there's no such thing as an older trainee, unless you mean 22-23 year old MAX. If you are playing > 23 year olds and calling them "older trainees" you're kidding yourself.
