Subject: question about email I received

Hi all,

I sent an email to the admins but have yet to receive a response so I am wondering if anyone can give their two cents. In my emailbox today I saw an email from sokker that said I was being fined since one or more of my players sold for an unfair price. I was fined a nice chunk of change for it. My question is: How am I supposed to know how much a player is actually worth to an owner for bidding purposes? I usually put each player up for sale for $1 and let the bidding owners control the final price. Is this not a reasonable way to go about selling my players? Thanks and happy new years to everyone.

wow, that seems kinda harsh. The other guy got banned too. Not sure if you have any polish IPs accessible to you, but seriously it seems like you didn't do anything wrong.

I guess $1 260 for crawford was to much. lol

but seriously, I looked all the way back to when you started and didn't see anything.

How much was the fine?

The fine was $175,000. I don't know about you but I could have used that money to get my head coach and junior coach brand new range rovers.

I figured it was the transaction on the 18th?
2007-01-02 04:38:27
See I am not sure what transaction it is in regards to so I sent the admins an email asking them which one, but they still have not reached out to me.

on the 18th, young player, decent value;

The price seems fair. just sold him for over 200K:

Reuben Craft, age: 19
value: 86 000 $, wage: 1 225 $
club: Arapuca Futebol Clube, country: USA
solid form, tragic tactical discipline

Yeah, I don't really understand what specific player I was fined for. If a player I sell creates a bidding war and a bunch of owners keep bidding his price up, do I have to report to the admins each time it happens?

How can the seller be held responsible for the final price a player commands in an auction?...I would hope there is more to the story here, something that neither you nor the rest of us can see, and that the GMs communicate it to you pronto.

I'm looking to upgrade my youth coach. I hope it doesn't cost me 175k. :(

I agree...just seemed logcially like the most likely candidate becuase the buyer was banned.

You're suggesting that this player was worth 240K???

Player data on transfer day:
age: 20
value: 97 000 $
very good form

adequate stamina, weak keeper
excellent pace, unsatisfactory defender
unsatisfactory technique, weak playmaker

average passing, poor striker

Obviously there was somethign wrong with the team that bid that, the TPA (transfer price adjustment) still left you with more than the player was worth imho.
2007-01-02 17:34:05
That player is not worth 240K but what does that have to do with the seller?

In the end the fine yields a fair market value:
240-175 =65K

65k would be a fair price for that player, but the 240k bid had nothing to do with the seller. The punishment is not justified.

The seller wasn't actually punished in a way that means they cheated.

It's how the admins stop players who are quitting or cheating from giving their money away. What would you guiys think if i sold some crappy player and got 4M for him because i had been nice to some quitting player and had been his Mentor or hadn't banned him once when i could have? Or maybe they just clicked the first transfer on the transfers list and randomly gave away all their money? Or maybe they liked condiments or babes. Even if i didn't ask for it so i didn't actually cheat... Would you think that's unfair? Is it only "not justified" to you because it was only 175K?

Basically the admins didn't punish shumpert with fine over what the TPA should have been or banning or warning or whatever because they didn't find any evidence that he had a partnership with the player that was banned or whatever. The adjustment to the sale price was only to make it reasonable based on the actions of that player, not a reflection or punishment of shumpert.

It's fair then!

65K is a fair price for the player and there must be some form of control.

Shumpert was not punished, basically the transfer price was adjusted.

Case closed.

Yeah, but shouldn't this be communicated to the seller immediately so that he knows what the hell is going on?
