Subject: Strikers - a discussion

Pal: the way you use your strikers, you use them more as defensive forwards.

I would definitely look for guys who have average or better defense when looking at prospects.

I have not trained striking in over 3 seasons. For me there was no need to. My starting strikers all had enough striking to get me the goals I needed. But with the new match engine, I will have to start devoting more time to striking.

I personally do not like switching training a lot. I will usually train a single skill for at least an entire season before switching. Before I will train pace, I want to have a relatively young team with plenty of backup players to train. And in order to train striking, I have to quit training my midders for a while. For me it is a lot to think about.

Its not about striking any more, its about technique...

Thanks for the answers guys. Now I've got a somewhat related question on coaches. If you're switching skill training (or primarily training a secondary) what level of skill do you look for in a coach? Do you try to get one that is pretty high in all three main skills? I imagine the wages could get pretty pricey...

at the beginning, I chose my assistants so I could change main coach when training different skills.

When you are training a skill the main coach needs to be unearthly or divine.

When I got more money I hired a brilliant coach as main coach.

I train striker half the season and tech or pace the other half. My coach has unearthly in all skills but stamina and keeper. But then again, my strikers have significantly less striking than the ML guys. One of my trainees only has poor striking.
