Subject: »Jarhead and lesser wanna-be\'s

uhm the wallace was the first nod towards a good war movie, bru.

I quoted braveheart a number of times, before his murder most foul.

"The Wallace" is not a nickname. It is just bad grammar. That's like saying "The Guacamole" is a nickname, and not merely pointing out that "there can be only ONE."
2007-10-05 15:12:30
trit, i said it was "the first nod towards a good war movie", not that it was a nickname.

*stare*

Makes sense. Here we are having a discussion about wonderful/boring nicknames, and you non sequitur into a conversation about war movies and who was the first to quote same. I should have figured out that you changed the subject for no reason. My apologies.

Dude, you were the one to bring up how cool you were for naming jarhead after a movie.

So stop being an idiot or i'll tell mom.
2007-10-05 16:32:29
Sorry, guac, you're right and i'm an idiot.

That it's a shortening of his name, and a nod towards a movie doesn't make it any less obvious.

Just sayin'.

I should stop babbling on this thread about my wanna-be player and work.

Jarhead would be a much better nickname for him if he wasn't Polish.
2007-10-06 01:39:22
How about Jarheadski?
2007-10-07 03:23:49
Jartowski would be more appropriate.
=p

I just turned down 50m zl ($12.5m USD) for Jarhead from a Polish Ekstraklasa club. I posted him as a transfer announcement to see what kinds of interest is out there, although there is practically no chance I'll sell him.

I still want him to be the first 100m zl player sold from the US.

Has there EVER been a player that sold for that much?

Just turned down 70m zl. I'm starting to think I'm being silly.
2007-10-15 17:30:38
I would have taken this offer.

And yes, you are silly.

:)

Sigh. Other players get $25m USD. Why can't I?

Should I try for $20m USD and be done?
