He'll have good or solid defense by the end of the season, and VG by the time he's 22. I'm not sure why that is "unbalanced," unless you want a bunch of medium stats instead of a bunch of top stats to be matched by a few medium stats....

By the way, what works in your system isn't relevant to my training needs. I'll have two defensive mids, and need Jarhead to patrol the middle of the field and feed my wingers and forwards.

I guess. But I wouldn't want a player like that patrolling the middle of the field. He doesn't have (and won't have) enough defense to take the ball from behind on decent opposing mids, his tech doesn't allow him to run over opposing mids. Basically, he can distribute the ball, but he doesn't have enough defense to take the ball, and doesn't have enough tech to keep it.

Like I said, I look for more balanced players.

That's true, but most midfielders don't really run with the ball that much. They usually let the ball go when an opposing player is coming, so high passing like that is goood

I also respectfully think that excellent tech and solid to VG defense is just find for a center mid, when you use a formation with two defensive mids. My ML center mid does have tech better than that, but his def is much less, and well, he's done well enough to get me to 4th place in the ML in my 1st season there. And I suspect Jarhead's recent average of about an assist a game with his passing is much more effective than a few more defensive midfield stops.

I like my plan. It works well enough.

I dunno whats not to like about that passing and PM.

Meh. Like I said, for a player that has his own thread in the USA conf and isn't even American, he's not all that great in my eyes.

1. The pace is great, but pace in the middle of the field is next to worthless without either tech or defense... if a player is very fast and has outstanding tech, most defenders will be tackling from the side, and he'll be able to break past. But his tech is low enough that he can't do that. Lots of pace is also good in a mid if he's got good defense... but only if he's got enough defense to take the ball from behind, because that's what he's going to be doing most of the time.

2. The PM and passing are overkill... they would have been better spent on other skills, especially considering the diminishing return as skills take longer at higher levels. Theoretically, if brilliant to magical took 4 weeks, getting those terrible tech and defense scores up would have probably taken 2 or 3. So you're wasting an extra week or two for marginal gain.

Potato ....potahto.........:)....this is what intrigues me about this game it doesn't require or reward cookie cutter strategies.

I'd also like to see a touch more defense (excellent preferably) on jarhead in the middle. But there's no such thing as overkill on passing, and jon's not really training jarhead much in pm, so it doens't exactly hurt...

Anyway, i'd also love to see what jarhead can do on a wing some day, he'll have a LOT of room to run and run and run, banging pots over his head and chanting oklahoma oklahoma oklahoman
