Subject: Cup meaningless? A discussion...
I think that the Cup winners should expereince a 5-10% increase in their fanclub members, in addition to winning a cash prize.
You have to beat the same teams to win. 1 loss and done. How much harder can it be?
I don't think the past cup winners are given enough credit.

you have to beat 2-3 of the same teams to win, plus its not an automatic entry - youve got to do extremely well just to get into the top 8 in the first place
ok I think we may be arguing 2 different things. I was talking about a team thats already in the position to compete for both titles. At the end of the season would you be happier having with a cup title over a 2nd place ML finish? 3rd? Where would you rank a cup title?
Benmor, you've been verging on offensive just about this whole thread. I already closed one because of you and islander fighting, sheesh.
Anyway, you keep saying it's not meaningless, and you keep hearing from most of the teams that have a CHANCE to win it that it is not as important as playing trainees, and not worth it.
I'll add my 2 cents. As you can tell by my sale of a 24 year old who is one of my top mids, right when i'm one of the 3-4 teams left that COULD win it if we tried, i also prioritize training over the cup.
So yeah, the cup is kinda neat, but it's not as meaningful as a viable training program.

I'll take the ML title over the cup! I think that's the true USA #1!
That said, the cup is not meaningless. We're all here to win.
I have a 17 yo supertalented (now injured) and 2 18 yo talented trainees that I had to train. Plus some worthless but talented youths that I keep around.
To stay competitive in the ML, we must find money to upgrade our players. Only Cats have won both the ML and the Cup and I want to do it someday.

exactly what i said, but thats not a good enough answer for him heh
I'm not sure how I'm verging on offensive. And you closed the other thread because islander and your brother were "picking on that poor guy," which doesn't have anything to do with me.
I never said that the cup was *more* important than playing trainees. I simply objected to jonandabby's and islander's characterizations that it is meaningless.
And, one more thing: the teams that have a "CHANCE" to win, if you mean the ML teams, are just about all out of the cup. In actuality, it's the lower level teams that have a "CHANCE" to win the cup. If I were in, say, islander's position, I'd be putting an emphasis on the cup just because upper level teams don't put out full squads and it's easier to compete in lower level league play.
I was talking about your other friendly cup ad. The one that's named *** now.
And no, i'm talking about teams that have a chance to beat most of the other teams in the cup if both teams tried.
Ie me, KY, pwn, ravens, wisconsin enforcers, and mebbe a few others.

All that the thread that's named **** says is that my friendly league is starting "join up suckers."
If that's offensive I'm shocked.

Dude, i deleted it because you had two threads for your friendly league. Like i said in the other thread (the one that's still open).
Sheesh. I am starting to see islander's point here, lol.

You're starting to get islander's point? Islander's point appears to be that I'm a crappy manager, though he doesn't really support that argument with anything substantial.
What you said was that I was bordering on offensive, and I asked where I wsa bordering on offensive? To use a different usage of the word, I'm actually on the *defensive* here, as I was the one being attacked (by islander and your brother).
