Subject: Stadium Upgrade
are you serious about that roof comment??? are they a waste of money?
I already have a roof over my seats....but I'd be happy to not have to put anymore in.

It takes like 4-6 seasons for the roofs to pay for themselves. You make the decision whether laying out $$ for such a long-term return is the most profitable way to use it.
I was indeed serious, and don~t call me shirley.
I am not touching mine until I get some sell outs. But when that starts to happen I will be looking to see what upgrades are reasonable.
I just sold out my stadium at 36,000. I think the roofs helped, I just added some more.

Right, for like 2-3 games per season it would indeed help a little bit.
well, roofs look cool :)
check out my stadium, all even with roofs all around.

My opinion, which is worthless - I'd rather take the $400k, buy a decent trainee, sell him in a season for $1 million, and let my fans get wet a few times a season.
I'd be curious to know how many fans show up for a rainy day, with a roof.
The comparison Lakay made to KY isnt valid because his match wasnt in similar weather conditions.
I'm sure he's right though about the roofs helping though.

I'm a little upset with my attendance this past weekend, but then again, my supporters were only satisfied with their club.
Under not so favorable fan impressions and the worst weather conditions possible in this game, roofs over seats in the corner gave me ~20% more spectators in that section, compared to the same-size with only a bench.
You can do the rest of the calculations...
As for roofs...they may have an extremely long pay-back period, but I don't really care. I just like having an awesome stadium. It's more of a pride thing. Too bad I never have a chance to sell it out during the cup...:(

my suporters had dropped to satisfied as well before this game.
With roofs rain has zero effect on attendance.

This is from my last match with "heavy clouds shower". Behind the goals are benches without roofs. The 4159 is seats under a roof. On the other side we have seats without a roof with 1654. So it seems that my fans love getting wet as long as they are seating behind the goals. As for the sideline seats. The roof made a huge difference. 2500 more fans showed up on the side with the roof.

Benches under roof have always sold out for me, even when I'm not doing so good.
Weird eh? What is your opinion about my match here? My benches sold out without having a roof? Selling far better than my seats with a roof.
I heard somewhere that if you do not have the type of seat that the fan wants he will upgrade. Does that mean upgrading all of your benches to seats would force your bench fans to buy seats? And thus not affect your attendance?

That's the theory I operate under. I'm working to have nothing but benches in the ends and seats everywhere else. Theoretically, "under roof" would be an "upgrade," as well.
