Go USA!

A crucial match for our nation!

Should be interesting. :)

Turkey is pretty solid defensively. Their forwards, tho, have never impressed me (and a few of their better ones are a little banged up).

Was a flukey goal last time that cost the US full points (poor Bogan). Should be due for a little kinder treatment this go round.

well the US have to win so good luck to all

The Hungary result today doesn't help.

Hungary went back to their 8-0-2. From what Jurkasz said a couple of weeks ago, I guess that means Hungary has more respect for the American strikers then the Scotish ones.

interesting finale,

Peru should clinch a spot in the next round later today.

Scotland, Hungary and USA still fighting for 2nd and 3rd place.

McLeish's yellow card is bad news, though, because it now gives him a red for the last and most important match for qualifying.

as long as Peru doesnt chock vs Island and Hungry and we win vs Scottland we can qualify

Congrats on a nice win. :) The US was quite deadly on restarts today.

I was initially a little concerned the US formation was slightly too conservative, given the opponent and the situation. But it worked out well. :)

Tough luck with McLeish. :S Week 16 is going to be great. :)

Peru should clinch a spot in the next round later today.

I suggest watching Island vs Peru match...I am hoping to surprise them.

:)

i dont think u suprised them

Did you guys see Mcleish back pass after he dribbled Peru's keeper and had an open net?

His back pass, set up a counter attack which led to a 90th min game winning PK against the USA.

I could have done better if Pikens and Stokes were not in lousy form all season.

i like the lineup that you played today they played very well together

I loved the 4 on none break aways, and when the goalie kept coming out to the 18, and the 3 in a row offisdes that occured a copuple times.

But the best part that kept me laughing and made me fall of chair, when Island Scored.

Was an interesting attempt Vilpu. :) Didn't quite get the defensive line in the right spot. In a tactic like that it's important that any opponents beyond the last man are off-side. There were regularly 4-5 Peruvians beyond the last man in on-side positions.

Fortunately that anomolous + won't factor into any tie-breaking in group D. :)

My awful bad....A week ago I used this tactics against Norway, worked well.
I thought norway and peru should be same class teams, therefore tried it again.
Failed badly..

Also a little tough luck losing Joe Bosh to injury.

Lakay has to replace two starting positions.
