Subject: Sponsor Money BS

smirker [del] to All
Last week I won both games. My friendly game was against a team in a higher league then me and I received a decrease in sponsor money. That's totally ridiculous!

Additionally, I win my last league game to go undefeated for the season. As a result, I will auto-promote to B-League and I get a wopping 14 fans.

That's what I call Bullocks!!!!

I really don't understand how you guys don't get this honestly.

How many fans show up for AAA-team gamse? AA? A? (baseball reference)

Do you really think you should keep getting more fans when you're beating teams that are much worse than you? What would happen then is, everyone wouldn't want to promote. Teams in C-league wouls have MORE sponsor and game income than teams in the ML.

Promote. You'll get more fans.

I finished in 4th place in the ML. Picked up 24 this week. Hehehehehe.

2nd in the B-16 and picked up 23 more :)

I beat a B-League team last week in my friendly match, so doesn't that go against your point?

Additionally, if I am auto-promoting to B-League, so shouldn't the momentum of my team's success bring more sponsors?

You analogy is weak, because I am not saying that I deserve anywhere near the number of fans or sponsor money that a ML team gets. All I am saying is that I should continue to increase EVEN AT A MINIMAL AMOUNT, not go down.

While I did get a small increase in fans, I guess I can't complain, however, I think that teams that get promoted to B-league and only win 1 or 2 games over their first season and wind up in a relegation match should perhaps not see the average increases in fans that they are getting especially if they are losing for a majority of the season.

smirker: friendlies dont matter

Friendly's only matter a SLIGHT amount. As it should be.

And your bonus for promotion happens later, not before it happens.

And what you're not understanding is... If you continue to gain forever by beating bad teams, you'll reach the level of the ML in C-league within a few seasons. ML teams can't win every game, so if the number of sponsors didn't look at opposition skill, c-league would always have more wins etc.

And if you think ml teams should gain 100 per match if sponsors are happy, or whatever, that'd just totally change the economy of the game, and would be the same as you not gaining at all if they had to curve it to keep income steady.

I think B teams that lose a majority of there games should gain more supporters than C teams that win a majority.

Anything that motivates teams to promote is good for the game.

to clarify, I'm talking about 5-6th place B teams.

yeah, Hockey Arena has a huge problem with teams sandbagging.

When I won qualify match last season I got 40 supporters and I hope you will but during week 0.

I think it actually has to do with the strength of your opponent as well cause I tied a game against a much better team than you played and still saw a minimal increase in sponsor money.

BTW. I lost my last 5 friendly games but kicked ass all my latest group opponents and got 2-3k more each week. I think maybe you have too weak group.
2007-06-18 20:15:36
i got 25 fans for finishing second in b.04
2007-06-18 20:33:07
865 total - I don't have a space for more ;)

Interesting ... I now have 1300 .. and I wonder if THAT is the 'soft cap'?
