Subject: Mr-Llama (NT)

Next elections, we should have two main candidates running. And close all the other threds or not respond to them, like this one and the polish bobo one.
2007-06-30 00:14:51
The next election will be very interesting. The World Cup could dictate where everybody stands and if anybody would want to seriously challenge Lakay (assuming he still wanted the position next season).

Who knows? We could even have to vote for two coaches if they (finally) implement a U-21 squad.
2007-06-30 00:14:59
i would much more vote for lopezinho then Mr.Lama here

but MY VOTES GOES TO LAKAY!
2007-06-30 00:23:07
If Lakay doesnt run next season, thats only if he doesnt. I would like to see KY or Fromo run again. If not, another MLer step up ^_^. Except Guac, no Babes gonna run USA :p
2007-06-30 01:22:43
lol at this Llama guy. He doesn't even have a remote grasp of what skills do for what positions on the pitch.

Hell I've been here three seasons now, with three division titles to my name, and I still don't feel I'd be qualified. Not enough experience yet. My fiscal management/luck is temporarily holding me back in B league.

It cracks me up, I am by no means confident I could handle the NT, and to see guys with less experience than me trying to take Lakay's place is a joke.
2007-06-30 04:06:56
The best thing he said, and most retarted:

so if u want to "just squeeze by" then vote lakay

but if u want to actually get somewhere and ensure a decent performance from the USA, you'll vote me, Mr-Llama
2007-06-30 04:23:19
Well I mean, come on, lakay won the ML, then had to play a qualifier, he must be clueless, right Llama...

Oh and if you are still in div V in HT (and coming in 3rd place) after playing 8 seasons, I have to question your understanding of how these games work. Please check back in a couple of years (real calendar) and when you are more humble, and not ready to insult people. Bashing Lakay cost you all credibility in the US community. Maybe Taiwan is looking for a tactical veteran like you.

I would vote for myself before I ever voted for you.

1) I would never run for NT.

2) I consider my tactics as sucky.

So 3) I consider your tactics really sucky ;)

actually islander i do have a very good grasp of what positions require what skills. That's the basic knowledge of the game

However, just because i know that stuff doesn't mean I have the players with it.

and I did make a couple purchases recently of players that did have everything needed for their position, but this game is quite different from hattrick (and dumber) in which case the transfers were cancelled.
2007-06-30 22:18:37
and ya know i was just making a speech and giving it a go.

did i think i'd win? no

did i think i'd even get a vote? no

but it gives me a goal to reach for and if all u are still around in 10 seasons or so, you may see my name as NT coach

Cheers everybody

The lads have been a little rough. :)

But since you are still an active candidate in the election, I am inclined to leave this thread open.

Tho I would suggest the issue of Mr. Llama's inexperience has been fully addressed, and requires no further discussion.

Well then it remains open and i'll let them poke fun at my tactics and decisions

I would most likely play a 352 with 1 defensive attacker. the other 2 would be 1 technical and 1 quick.

At the front I would either (depending on the opponent) spread the forwards among gaps in their defense, or play a stack and sacrifice my first one. if he doesn't beat the defense, then the one right behind him (with defender) will take the ball and have a clear run to the goal.

my defense will be played with 3def and 1 or 2 defensive mids

I will also give my opponents some "breathing room" to ensure they don't beat me on a quick turn. u disagree? try it...

my midfield will not try to be everywhere. I'll play my one defensive and keep him towards the back. the other 2 will work together in an offensive push but won't always be at EVERY sector (keep them from getting tired). wingers will be used for inside push and as what i like to call "throw-in safeties". I'm sure as most of you know, throw ins are taken by the closest player. in the tactics i'm going to keep the wingers near a 2nd player at all times. so when it's time for a throw-in, they'll be there to receive it.

I like to play a more middle of the field spread, rather than an outside. this means that my wingers will tend to come into them middle, instead of hanging around the outsides. it also means my defenders will stay at the middle line and my strikers will stay further up front.

that's just the basics off the top of my head. as i got to see the team and opponents team i would make variations

Cheers to all you haters

Ok, I am already lost, you would play a 352, with "with 1 defensive attacker. the other 2 would be 1 technical and 1 quick?"

(1) In a 352 you only have 2 attackers, I count 3.
(2) Are you saying you would only play one-dimensional players? At the elite level players need both tech and pace at high levels, not either or.

This more than codifies that while you think you may have got a handle on tactics (though the fact you do not know what a 352 means scares me a lot), you do not have any grasp of skills and their impact on play.

Advice, learn, get results, then make a speech. You will get a lot more respect when you can at least back up what you are saying, without any knowledge.

1) answered below. though i could play 2 attackers as well. but learn the game please
2) of course i wouldn't play one-dimensional players. this isn't hattrick with divine gods. duh i'm not that dumb. the technical and quick is for my stacking purposes. if i have the players of course. but it's not like the guy has very good pace and poor technique. i'm saying 1 guy is going to be using his quickness more and the other will use his technique more. their tech/pace levels won't be exactly level.

so i'd appreciate u take back ur remark because u couldn't understand my meaning of tech and quick. positions, not actual skill levels.

You can have a 3-5-2 with a withdrawn attacker, giving you 3 attackers. It ends up being basically a x-x-1-2.

Further, very few players are going to have equal levels of tech and pace. It's reasonable to have one that's more technical, and one that's quicker.
