Subject: Cup Round 1

most of the ML teams ignore the cup for obvious reasons. Towards the 3rd and 4th round, you have to make a choice between skipping out on your training plan, or playing scrubs in the cup or league.

Depends on your training plan, I guess. If you train strikers, that's fewer "scrubs" on the field. If your training plan has players throughout the range of completion, you should be able to field something resembling a full team in both matches. Plus, stamina should be a part of everyone's training plan, and 1 week of stamina training in the season isn't a training killer.

Hey Jaydawg. If you can afford to I would play your starters against me in the cup. I'm training pace so I have to play a full lineup of B-teamers. You should be able to make it a close game and might even win.

You sound like you want to lose to get an early start on the Stokes Cup. ;)

I would love to win. But with the lineup I am going to be using in the cup this season there is no way I will make it far. But if I make it to round 4 with my crappy players, I might consider switching to striker training so I can play some good players.

Stokes Cup, pffsh :/ Needs a new name

Yeah I guess I probably should move on.

and there goes billy again =p

good enough to own Purple Lazers...backups bad enough to get beat by a B league team.

Talk about dichotomies, LOL.

It was a clean game, too. No fouls or cards given to either squad.
2007-07-12 03:41:36
it was a fluke i tell you, ill get mine week 14 =P

Most of my B-teamers are young talented striker trainees. I lost count, but I think I had at least 6 of them in the game today. I'm training pace, so I didn't want to play any A-teamers. And half of those guys don't have any stamina :(

Next season I'll likely be back to training striking. I'll make it far then.

So here is to all us round 1 and round 2 losers. Cheers!

dammit, I can't buy a home game in this Cup. So stupid...so stupid.

My cup run will be in modest jeopardy this coming week, even against a banned B team, because I'm switching training now, and it's going to be an ugly lineup. Well a lineup with all my scorers playing as midfielders...so I'm going to have to develop a 4-5-1 strategy for a while.

Well if you got a home game this early, it would mean that you are the lesser team based on last year. Want it both ways, huh? ;)

I managed to get a home game by this point last season...it was either round 1 or 2...and I can assure you I wasn't the lesser team back then. I couldn't have been.

This weaker team as home system is stupid anyway, just like on HA. The only good reason to stick around in the cup is the money, and that's pretty neutered thanks to this system.
