Subject: »[Junior]USA Youth Roll Call

Could someone highlight the less obvious changes to the youth system?

I mean it sounds like they nerfed the crap out of it, but then said hey, if you participate in junior leagues, you can actually have what you used to have all along - again.

i was talking more about your statement being misleading in the sense that you arent taking into consideration all the losses involved with your method and figures, zooming in to weekly costs instead of a better average over a season

if it was $3k/week/trainee you would be making bank. but then why isnt your squad or transfer list littered with about one sale per week? its not cost per trainee, its per open spot.

you probably keep 5 or so open spots every week. on top of that, it takes on average about 6-7 weeks to figure out if someone is talented or not. you actually keep a small % of the guys that enter, but it cost money to find that out

that means you have about 10 spots you pay $3 a week for searching but come up empty. you need to factor that in. thats about -450k straight down the drain per season you need to make up for with the guys you actually pull. on top of that, with crappy random skill distribution many of the guys you do pull sell for less than their $75 it cost to groom them in the youthschool, further adding to the loss

zoom out of your weekly cost analysis to a seasonal approach and the reality is much more noticeable. you've made money from training guys in your senior squad. if you closed your youthschool you could continue the trend by actively seeking out foreign youths in a more controlled, constant method. finding talented trainees takes a little effort but is a screenshot away from giving you all the info you've been looking for in the youthsquad up front

I see your point. That said, then the one sale I just made pays for 3 1/2 seasons of training, not including any other sales OR any other trainees I have. The ones I made last season kept me even for last season, and I have 4 trainees left in my team from that same season's pulls. I showed you a few of those, and they are also worth seven figures when I sell them. Plenty of provable profit there, even if my costs of the YS are $1.1m or so ($25k for trainees/week *14 weeks = $350k + my coach = $812k/season)

Generally, I've always viewed my YS as a place to get an occasional trainee and to provide relatively smaller sales that subsidize the coaches' wages. I figure if I make money on the YS (as I do) after paying for all of the training costs, then I don't have to worry about what my trainees cost me as much.

Again, my only proof that I'm right is that I never run out of money, yet I spend more on trainees than pretty much anyone in the US.

Not sure I agree, he looks like a very good MID prospect depending on his talent.

let me know when Bishop is listed. I'll give him a go to see if he's talented or not.

Then I can also say I have Ken and Ben Bishop.
