Subject: »[Junior]USA Youth Roll Call
So, Parrish is, by far, the best youth ever to come out of my school.
https://sokker.org/player/PID/40179913
Neil Parrish, age: 17
club: Baltimore Arsenal FC, country: USA
value : 78 750 $
wage: 1 025 $
very good [9] form
tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 171 cm, weight: 67.3 kg, BMI: 23.02
unsatisfactory [2] stamina poor [3] keeper
weak [4] pace very good [9] defender
weak [4] technique weak [4] playmaker
adequate [6] passing average [5] striker
Future USA defender (U21, at least). Came out formidable, but based on total sumskill (37!) is outstanding. Had a weird end of estimates which made me think he'd end up with only 31-32 sumskill.
Due to the fact I am training my own team, I can't train him so I will put him up for sale later today. I am trying to fine tune the talent value, but it's around 3.5. Normally I would trust Geston value which is higher, but it's not really lining up with the skills at all - I think it has to do with coach thinking he was only "very good" just last week lmao.

i'll throw in on him. got an open spot and another i'm looking to free up.
First of all, player isn't sold yet. His value is TBD. I've wasted 6 million at least on this YS so far. I've also got nothing in the pipe of value. Everyone but the newest guy is garbage talent so far.
As I told you privately (and noted above), his assessment as a junior is very unusual, and I am pretty well versed on assessing talent.
Kids directly out of youth school do have more variability than established trainees, generally speaking. Although, by and large, youth talent estimates generally are higher (edit: meaning worse) than actual talent. This, of course, assumes a proper training system deployed at the club he belongs to.

My school is dry now. No good prospects im excited about.
TL also is tough. Hard to find good trainees without spending millions.

Given the fact that he came out with much better skill sum than anticipated his talent might also be better than predicted thus far

I would love to spend a million on Parrish, given I have this much left after Shultis.
YS does take some patience, eventually it works out.
YS estimates aren’t “better” they often are “inaccurate”, my former player Richard Inman is the best example here.
I’m happy to make an opening bid of 1M should You decide to list him now, I won’t be able to chase though.

I totally agree - he's essentially outstanding ( but 11.9?), which would put his talent in the low 3's. That's what SK says, and although I have a general belief it tends to be generous with talent estimates, Parrish's particular graph looks pretty accurate.
If anyone were to ask me if, as a youth rebuild buyer, would I attempt to buy Parrish. I would say, without question, yes. I just never bought defenders in my rebuild five seasons ago. Every guy except for Renusz was a midfielder who got moved to defense once I assessed talent levels on all of the guys. It is why they are all going to be late bloomers for ML play.
I'll list him in an hour or so, sooner if I get the additional datapoint I am looking for.

"YS estimates aren’t “better” they often are “inaccurate”, my former player Richard Inman is the best example here."
Agreed. Some of this can be ameliorated by playing in youth leagues, but it is still a crap shoot that tends to guess worse talent than accuracy. A friend of mine once tried creating a chart that correlated YS talent to actual talent, but it ended up being too flawed, as well thought out as it was.
