Subject: quickie question

...i'm hemmoraging money right now... depending on home match or not, i'm losing somewhere around +20k a week... i recently upgraded to a formidable youth coach... trouble is, he is 13.5k a week, and the excellent coach i was using(and is now an assist with my league squad) was only costing me 7.5k weekly...

i know 20k isn't a lot to most, and i was banking on making something with my last formidable youth pull($5 yay)... but at this rate i'ma be broke by the end of the season...

is it that much of an upgrade to have the formidable coach instead of the excellent coach for my ys??

I dont think so. It's only one rank.

depends on how you have the skills placed. You might have a highly expensive formidable coach, in which it might be advisable to try and look for a different one.

Whats his skillset and wage?

That's not a cheap formid coach to begin with... An assistant who's formid should be about 11k...

Also, 20k loss per week, does that mean you lose like 35k on weeks where you have away match and like 5k on home match weeks? or is it -20 and then even with home?

The reason i'm saying that is, if you have good trainees (and that's KEY) (full a-team and b-team of trainees in the position you're training), 20k loss every other week isn't that bad honestly. I wasn't profitable for a LOOONG time, certainly not till a-league. Anyone who's profitable early is really missing the boat on how important coaches are...

Your team can go relatively far in debt before you are really in trouble. Just make sure you have a plan to make money down the road. If you have 0$ and lose 20k per week it will take you 25 weeks to get to bankruptcy (-500k). Just last week I was down to -370k.

interesting...on a somewhat related topic...is there a cap on sponsor revenue in each league? I've seen hints at it here and there, but nothing definite. Put another way, is there a point where the sponsor dollar rate starts to drop off? i was watching it as it related to supporters, and the number took a serious drop even though number of supporters went up. I guess i should also ask if the two are even related?

There is a cap in sponsor money per league.

The money doesn't drop off, it increases in smaller and smaller increments. There's also a supporter cap that works the same way.

- The money question:

20k a week for 16 week (1 season) is only 320K. Pick your trainees right and train both A-team and B-team and you can easily cover that expense. Plus you'll also get end of season bonuses.

Don't give up on youth training, but set your standard high. Don't allow a youth to come out of your club unless he will reach "excellent". When your finances improve you can drop your requirements.

"The money doesn't drop off, it increases in smaller and smaller increments. There's also a supporter cap that works the same way."

sorry...badly worded...but that answers the question i was actually trying to ask...which gets my curiosity going...does anyone have any idea what the top numbers are...

Supporters:

ML: Billy is the 1st to reach 2000 supporters.

I'm getting about 18 a week with about 1900 supporters. Not sure how much Billy is getting.

The other league, we had a discussion about B-league. When Valley was in B-league he appeared to have hit a cap. I don't remember what the number was (Maybe 1200?).

Sponsor money:

ML: After I hit 200K in sponsor money my sponsor money has been increasing in smaller increments.

I don't know about the other leagues.

That's about right. I had more than that number when I was demoted but kept losing supporters even though I was winning my league games. I am almost at 1600 supporters now that I am back in an A League.
2007-08-22 17:13:25
1200 isnt a cap for B leagues. There are several teams I dare say with over that, including myself. My gains are still normal (15-20 a week per win).

Thanks,

Ravens should soon know the cap for A-League as far as supporters and sponsor money.
2007-08-22 17:17:08
How many supporters do you have?
2007-08-22 17:31:52
1239. I even gained 7 fans the week before with that garbage tie against a garbage team.

Win next week and let us know if you're still getting 15 to 20 supporters. I'd like to confirm the theory.

I'm at 1303. Got 11 supporters this week and last.
