Actually i did it, and i think johnandabby did in 4 seasons, and if guacamole didn't put a MOley, he will have done it as well. Barndog did it in 4 or 5 seasons and Macracing as well

no doubt it's easier when i and jon did it. the community hasn't grown, but undoubtedly the teams who are at the top are stronger.

Do you get an uber youth pull or two to sell? Again, makes a world of difference starting out. Just like other games.

I think if you started at the beginning of a C league season, and pulled a lower B league when you promoted, then yeah, I definitely think a team could promote to ML in 5 seasons.

The key is still dominating in training, and using gained revenue to buy quality players in other positions. ANd then selling them at the appropriate time to upgrade elsewhere.

I agree with you, but remember how crappy your starting trainees are...
you can only flip them so fast and make the profit needed to improve everywhere else.
I've tried to do everything a little bit, train midfield, cross train other position players at a young age, flip players and buy improvements, etc.
I know if I did it again I could do it a bit more efficiently, but the whole process is frustrating as all hell (to me).
Anyway, back on topic...let's say you take 500k in 10 midfield trainees. You'll need probably 3 seasons bare minimum to get them to a point where you could sell them for a) enough profit to buy an improvement trainee and b) enough leftover cash to buy a realistic improvement out of training position).
because remember, you'll have crap for a coaching staff again. it slows things down a bit.
I think the biggest factor in being able to do it is the B league you end up in. Look at my league, or B3...then look at B15 or B16. which one could you easily promote out in one season?
Sure, you'd then struggle in whatever A league...but you'd have 3 seasons to get out promoting back to back from c --> b--> A

since we are talking about me, I auto promoted from C to B10, which at the time had 3 different teams with national team strikers.
I promoted out of B by beating a 5th place team in the Qually.
I did struggle my first few games in A league, injuries and cards, mostly from lack of depth.
I don't think I had an easy ride to the top.
