A more active forum would probably go a long way towards keeping people. That's what keeps people playing HT.

"Benmor has chosen to take one of the many reasons I gave and try to again, be derogatory for no good reason."

How did I do that? I quoted your entire post, and responded to each point. How was I taking one of the many reasons you gave and being derogatory for no good reason?

You people sniping at each other is tiring. let's go back to insulting Jarhead, who is just about the best midfielder in the US. THAT makes more sense.

True, it was the extremely active forum staff that put an end to my HT career.

To compare the training in a game where a team needs 11 players for a competitive match where a team needs 25 players and multiple lines doesn't make sense.

actually, the number of players doesn't make that much of a difference. remember, the actual goal of team sports is to develop the team so that it functions well as a unit. And, strangely enough, I find the training system here to be much more realistic overall. When coaching a real team, it is much more important to train the team in a concept than be concerned about the growth of individual players.

I play HA as well. And, I like the ability to train a specific element to an individual's needs. I would like to see some level of it here, because it is a real concern on a real team. But, it is really a minor element compared to training and developing a team.

BTW...That's an element I seriously miss over at HA.

I just noticed that HA has less active American users than SK.

In what direction are we trying to take sokker?

*waits for someone to tell him what HA's growth rate is*

Not once, but TWICE!!! :)

I think it's ludicrous to state that the training is what's constraining sokker's growth here in the USA.

And i don't really care what you hear from the people you bring over, honestly.

Training is ONE thing that's constraining growth. Just one.

And if you don't care what people say that are new to the game, then stop crying about your inability to keep new teams here. Period.

Hockey Arena suffers from some of the same problems Sokker does.

Actually, some people starting out get overwhelmed with the training there...where you have far more latitude in how you train players. My latest mentee has built his franchise reasonably well on his own, but he made some critical mistakes in emphasis of training, and it set him back as a result. He couldn't understand why he couldn't get out of IV.8 until I took him on as a mentee and immediately explained why - once I saw his team.

Whereas here, training is underwhelming - but in a similar way you can sure make mistakes. There's no flexibility in training.

But other mutual problems include a drab website, relatively non-communicative leadership, so on, and so forth.

Sokker is an easier game to play casually from the start then HA is - if you can stay interested. Hockey Arena you can do things every day to tweak the improvement of your team. You can have matches of some sort every day if you wish. Here, neither applies.

Personally, if I could change training, I'd allow for two types of training. One based on Sunday's game, and one based on the Wednesday match (if you have one).

If you want a better example, take a look at trophymanager. Even AFTER it purged 22 thousand inactive users three weeks ago...it's still approaching double the users Sokker has - in half the time.

That is the direction Sokker wants to go, if it's smart. Sokker can only live off it's superior graphical match engine for so long.

What's the constraint?

Primary training pops every 4 weeks (talent), with secondary training to skills that are not getting focused training.

Training would have been too fast if this game did not require more than one skill.

he wants to be able to train different people in different things in one week, like hockeyarena.

HA and TM barely hold my interest. I log in most days, check training, switch line up on game day.

log off
2007-09-17 16:19:28
and this game is different how?

Thats how I feel about Sokker. There's absolutely nothing to do here day to day.

The opposite with the other two game...although TM used to be that way.

If you find there's nothing to do in TM, then you clearly aren't utilizing all of the new tools and modifications made over the past two seasons.

and I actually don't want to see complete individual training. But more then what exists now. Thus my suggestion at two types of training - for players on Sunday and players on Wednesday.
