and this game is different how?

Thats how I feel about Sokker. There's absolutely nothing to do here day to day.

The opposite with the other two game...although TM used to be that way.

If you find there's nothing to do in TM, then you clearly aren't utilizing all of the new tools and modifications made over the past two seasons.

and I actually don't want to see complete individual training. But more then what exists now. Thus my suggestion at two types of training - for players on Sunday and players on Wednesday.

someone's tune is changing in regards to trophymanager. goes to show what a simple thing like a scouting system will do for a game.

On a daily basis? Yes, I spend alot more time here.

There is more to a sim than training.

I watch and rewatch all of my matches. I scout and rescout all of my opponents. I veiw the various transfer forums looking for those talented trainees.

Yep, I do what Dagwood does.

Perhaps when you promote to A league you'll have to spend more time preparing for your games.

its more then just the scouting system though. Although I use the hell out of my scouts too.

Sokker's been stagnant for a long time now. It's bad when Hockey Arena has more updates then you do ;)

I do a lot too, but don't do that much scouting or training planning or anything not related to that panel on my left hand side saying "admin". :P

doubtful.

From what I've seen from playing against A teams before in qualifier and Cup play, they aren't any more tactically savvy then a B league team.

They just have better players. In the end, luck overrides all tactics. As well as having better players compensates for crappy tactics.

no one who competes at a high level in A, or in the ML has a crappy tactic.

About half of the teams in the ML have what they feel is a perfect tactic for their stud players, and don't change it hardly at all weekly, bu that doesn't mean it's a crappy tactic. The other half of the teams tweak their tactic based on the opponent.

No tactic looks crappy if you've got the players to play in it.

this is sorta getting off topic though.

I hope you see the humor in what i'm about to say.

Maybe thats why i'm at the top of my A league and you are ............ not.

i'm not that concerned about threads going off-topic, as long as the original topic was dealt with (it was) and the new topic is fruitful (kinda is)

nah. tactics aren't my issue. check my boxscores. Garbage luck week in and out are my issue.

the only week I've been lucky all season is week 1 against pewsum. Not so much lucky I won, but lucky that it was 5-1.

If you play that game 10 more times there's no way a single one of those results comes up to 5-1 again.

Besides, what's your record against me again? :p

oh I know. I'm not trying to turn this into a trophymanager thread either ;)

edit: Just using it as a soccer sim comparative, because a hockey sim in some ways is like comparing apples and oranges.

Thats the humor i'm talking about.

No not tactics, training.
2007-09-17 17:51:52
dagwood; I know, I know ;)

But I did misunderstand this part:

No not tactics, training.

I also don't know if you've ever had a good youth pull (incredible +) to sell.

Something that would help get the ball rolling fiscally. Still,.I don't doubt you're better in that aspect though. I mean, you are where you are for many reasons, not just your ability to manage the training and roster.

Still, my team's improved every single season in skill. The only thing I've failed at doing is staying on passing training for the midfield. I've opted to improve my other areas via crosstraining the past two seasons in order to maintain the ability to succeed in my own division now, which until pretty recently was the best of all B divisions. It's now on the way down due to this same user loss we originally began the discussion with.

The only thing I need to change is my luck at this point. The players are put in position to succeed, and now they have more then reasonable skills to do so at both ends of the pitch.

But the 'random rolls' have to go my way at some point.

meanwhile, I find that the only thing really interesting to do here on a day to day basis is participate in the forums.
