I didn't know that the newbie thread was for England. I responded in their thread and I think you should know about this also.
Start
The key to autopromote is to Crosstrain while upgrading your players based on what you need.
Crosstraining example: If you are training strikers (6 of them), after you get them to at least formidable striker sell your oldest trainee. Let's say you switch to technique, you can now train your 5 remaining strikers in tech and you can crosstrain 5 midfielders along with the strikers.
Pace is the easiest to crosstrain. In the end many of your starters will receive primary training through crosstraining and you'll have a strong starting 11.
Upgrade and loan example:
Loan: Let's say you have 4 weeks left in the season and you're training pace. You can bring in a player that's somewhat out of your budget and puts you in debt (don't go above 250K in debt). You know you will sell him in week 1 but you hope he'll get a pop in pace and a couple pops in stamina. You hope that you'll make a proffit but you'll at least break even.
Upgrade: You have a player worth 500K but you have 300K after bonuses or after a sale. You can sell that 500K player and upgrade to a 800K player.

When I posted this I didnt expect peopel to respond as oyu dont ususally expect people to give away their secret to success easily. Thansk laot though for responding and dont be too surprised to see getting promoted a few times now.
Well if all new people read this thread then this game will get a lot more competitive.

It's no secret, but newbies don't think about it right away.
*thinks about implementing this into his team*
Good to actually state that though! =]

I like the part about being more competitive.
I have plenty of other secrets to keep me in the ML ( if I can keep quiet).

This is only 1 way to succeed in this game. A very good example for striker trainers.
I am a midfield trainer. I train the SAME 10 trainees every week.
What I do in not better than what you do. Just another example of how to succeed.

If you win today I write a press release on my Team's page about how great you are. I'll leave it until the start of next season.
losing two defenders to red cards is rough
u have an excuse for losing that bad now

ehm, you should read Lakay Guestbook then.........and start to think that Guac got the red button!!!
^_^
^_^
lol, the random crap luck must have hit you instead, because I had a default win this week.
uhm, there's no red button. Just the button and the anti-button.
Of course, the effect of the dread anti-button COULD act the way that match showed, but lets not create 100 different buttons.
Anyway, there's no proof i have EITHER button. Max had both, PD still has both, and Hautsi's rumored to have one. I won't speak any more.

Lakay had hands down the worst luck with red cards I have ever seen in a match. Sure i've lost 2 guys to reds before. But never 2 defenders.
Serves him right for having the effrontery to be infrontofme in the standings.... :)
