Subject: Hello Sokker

Hello all. First day that I've logged in. I'm kinda lost and looking for some newbie guides and some startup help (I've already read the rules)
I don't really know how friendly people are around this forums, and I'm very sorry If I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I'm still not familiar around.
I come from Hattrick.org, looking for something new in a manager game, and they are usually friendly there :)

Any help would be appreciated.

From what i've seen the US folk are very organised with their newbie help things so it wont be long til someone comes along and offers mentorship. =]

When he said forget everything you learned in hattrick....he meant it.... There's such a difference that the only thing in hattrick that you'll use here is the knowledge of what a typical soccer management layout looks like...and even that has differences.

As an observer, i saw you joking about your skills being so good countered with jokes about you being crap =p

My personal advice, tactics matter more than players (waiting for islander to comment on this one ;] ). Once you have mastered tactics, you will be a formidable threat.

Welcome to Sokker egghead1. As an enticement to keep your team long term you will be sent over a case of old beer. Now I realize old beer is not the best, but what do you expect of free beer?

On a serious note, Guacamole will be on later. He kind of heads up the whole mentorship program. I would offer to mentor you personally, but I am not on here enough anymore to really be usefull. But if you have any direct questions, feel free to send me sk-mails.

and if what Birhilo said about tactics its true, then me and sokker are going to get along just great, because one of the things I am looking for is more tactical freedom which hattrick doesnt really offer much.

Egghead if you go into forum search (bottom of forum page) and type in "newbie questions" in search field, you will see a forum. One of the top entries is usually Rob's Newbie Guide.

and yes barhilo I do agree tactics > players. That's what I was always talking about...how I understand tactics but I don't have a loaded team....
