Why USA?

See my election speech. I did used to post in the USA forums a lot more than I do now though I will admit!

Lets pretend you have to choose between these 3 players and you can only pick 2. Tell me which players you pick to support the future of the NT and why (Assume naturally that for an important qualifier the best will be chosen by skill and this scenario refers only to games where the result is less important than the future experience)

GK Age 24, Maximum Keeper skill, high secondaries

GK Age 21, middle-low high Keeper & Secondaries

GK Age 17, Very Good Keeper with Solid Secondaries

Assume that all have dedicated trainers with a long term outlook.


EDIT: And I can vouch for what gibbage says, I remember him posting here long before some of the folk were even having teams :)

I'd go for the middle one. I wouldn't opt for the youngest one, purely because you have no way of telling whether they will turn out any good and that sort of skill level almost anything could happen between now and when they are good enough. Getting the 21yo in the lineup would be more encouraging for the user to continue training them.

That being said, it would be a bad move to exclude the 24yo completely if they were of the calibre that the extra bit of training would turn them into something special. It's the training over 24 which really makes the difference between NT sides player quality.

If it makes you to post more on the USA conference, i will vote for you.....It will be good to see you hang around here like you used to do!!

As the soon to be ex-coach, I will testify that if you are elected, you will have intricate knowledge of the USA NT. You'll know how to hinder USA's strengths and how to exploit USA's weakness for at least 2 seasons past your term.

Will you use this knowledge against us as the coach of another country?

Will you use your knowlege of England's team against your own country in a USA VS England game?
