I've seen something a couple times lately that I find really wierd. How do you manage to get a walkover against a bot team? does the Me forget to set match orders for them or what?

Most likely reason is that they either have suspended players or injured players and can't field a squad of at least 9.

i thought about that. but in the game in my league the team has been a bot since the middle of last season.

Check here

As a matter of fact, the NYC Hotspurs did a walkover on the Odessa Roughnecks in Week 12 last season after the roughnecks became a bot team.

(Same two teams...hhhmmm.)

The team only has thirteen players... I don't think that a walkover lineup can carry forward to bot status unless there aren't enough players to field a team... which would mean that they would have had to have 3 suspensions / injuries to be a walkover this week.

So I don't know. The latest lineup has no subs, so it's entirely possible that they had three suspensions resulting in the walkover.

With hindsight, I can shed some light on what happened. The bot team usually plays only 10 men. Don't know why that is - but I think when a team becomes a bot, it should default to 11 - even if the additional player have minimal skills. What happened in this instance is that one of the bot team's players was suspended. He could only field 9 men and hence I got a walkover.

To be honest, this does not really help me as I cannot gauge progression. Upon reflection, I like my idea of default players being fielded. At least it will feel more like a competition rather than Coach Mark and me duking it out.....

Yankee and Coach Mark, I agree. I think part of the issue is the US expanded too quickly and thus the large number of C-league bots.

Also, I agree a team that goes bot should be repopulated with random bodies and tactics to at least make a game of it.
