This Saturday I'll be aiming for a win, and nothing else other than a win against 57th ranked India. There is a large gulf in quality between the USA and India, so I will be looking to recover the GD from last week.
ATM, I may be capping 1-2 previously uncapped players which I have discovered whilst going through some of the leagues.
Prediction contest running again. Once more, 25 points for spot on prediction, 10 for correct result and for predicting the minute for the first goal/injury/red card is 10 points minus amount of minutes off.

For once I take part in this competition:
USA - India 7-1
USA - India 7-1
7-0 win in the end, but could very easily have been as much as 20. Seemed to be quite a few shots from range. Quite disappointed that there were no goals in the final 30 minutes.
Handed debuts out to Buford Greenup as I wanted to try and get high secondary defenders in the defence where possible (his def skill isn't mega high, but didn't think that would be needed against India). He was visibly the one they did manage to get through though. Also brought in Bruce Oughton, who I felt would power through their defence and actually be able to pass.
The tactic wasn't particularly an offensive one. I wanted something simple, effective and could be used for future reference. I did contemplate using a 3 man back line but ultimately decided against it - although I may give that a whirl later in the season.
Quite pleased with how good Madsen and Patterson are looking as a combo up front though. Bags of potential there for the future. Claude Quaranta came on when things were safe.
Only thing that looked odd was the first corner they had, the positionings of the defenders, I'm sure was nothing like I had set on the tactic. Also a bit worrying that all of their chances came via breaking the offside trap.

game looked nice
madsen and patterson are CRAZY players. they both play VERY well ;)
there were times that the forwards could of gotten closer to goal but instead shot it from outside the box. :(
