Defense appeared to be positioned better, but we didn't get too many chances to see them in action. Defensive positioning on the India corner kicks in the 39th and 58th minutes looked a little scary.

I think the offensive throw in tactics need a little adjustment. When the ball was near the sidelines during play it really gets Beasley out of position. In the 5th-6th minute he's all the way over by the right sideline, then runs all of the way across the field to the left sideline. He's also way out of position, running behind the ball carrier in the 14th and 84th minutes. And in the 41st minute there are 3 guys all right around the ball near the sideline.

And a question on the database. How often should we be submitting players, every week for all of them, or just after they have a skill pop? And do you want to know what they were training during the last session, or what they will be training in the next one?

Not really worth resubmitting them unless they pop - waste of time otherwise.

I pulled Beasley out of position purely because I didn't want to drag a striker out of position.

Although given the calibre of the opponent, Bradley Ritch could easily have been dragged forward a bit more for things like offensive throw ins to give a bit more presence further forward. Games against Honduras and Latvia will be a good opportunity to try something a bit more extreme.

Canada up next week. Going to be U21, although we've agreed that 4 over aged players can play as long as they have no more than 10 caps.

I just don't understand why someone would play 4 defenders against weaker competition and not use the wingbacks to support possession, particularly when both IM's are playing in the center of the field. A lot of balls were cleared out to the midfield and there wasn't a player there to keep the pressure on because the wingbacks were helping defend 2 strikers.

I was treating it more as a "friendly" as to if/when I use that tactic again with a few changes, there will not be anything drastically wrong with it.

Going to be something else entirely different next week against Canada.
