i don't own a console (never bought one) but i'm intrigued by the Wii, especially by Wii Fit that will be available by the end of may

Wii has been online since day one. There just have not been many games to really take advantage of it. Mario Kart is the first one that I've actually played that makes good use of it.

and do you pay for the service????

and can i connect using my wireless home Connection???

You do not have to pay to play online. The only charges I have seen is if you want to download and play classic console games.

Everything in Mario Kart online is free.

Yes you connect using your wireless connection. It comes with a wireless network adapter pre-installed. It is the only way to connect a Wii out of the box. You actually have to buy an adapter if you want to use a wired connection.
