well, my understanding is that Guac's helping you primarily - using my teachings.

I realize sometimes its the blind leading the blind, but...

Guac's basically done though. He's just flustered because for some reason his team hates him offensively.

I don't really need mentoring. Just someone to bounce occasional questions off of.... I think I'm doing ok. I may even have a shot at the playoffs my first season in III.

One odd thing I've noticed - the prices have been OBSCENE for decent AI players so far this season. Very aggravating. A guy with an 87 AI went at 3:30 HA time last night for $27 million. Silly.

I just paid 51M for a 128 AI player (21 tho, and very nice QP) at 6am HA-time last night

the market is impossible right now. I don't see an end in sight, either. Not until late in the season.

More activity in the game means more money that WAS sitting around is now being pissed away.

People always buy more in the beginning of the season historically, because players are fresh into their new age/year

buying a 24 year old in week 2 is different then in week 9. the first guy has his whole season of training in front of him. the latter is virtually 25.

It sucks. I've got 120 mil to spend but I can't bring myself to do it. Things are just that badly overpriced. I wanted to spend 60-70 mil tops on a center probably worth 55 mil but he went for 85 in the end.

Screw that. I just cant reconcile going broke over one player. Doesnt seem worth it.


Guac's purchase was a big risk. If the QP are favorable then he overpaid but not enough to lose sleep over.

Its not unreasonable to overpay for a player you NEED, I've overpaid 5-10 million for players but if I am positive they will be with my team for 3+ full seasons, and I'm comfortable with the estimated QP then I figure it's more then worth it.

I've taken to buying high QP 19-20 year olds in the 50-70 AI range in the $2m-$3m range. Those will be starting in 2 seasons, I suppose. I have managed to sell a few players I'd stockpiled that were backups. Got a few million extra for those.

Thats what I did. Its why my team's around 40 players now, instead of 50. I actually don't care to carry much more at this point.

yeah it's kinda like here. took me about a day to get mine.

very normal. When you do get your approval email in a day or two, pay close attention to the info in the email.

On a side note, I just learned here on Sokker that one of my main 2 competitors for the division - the guy who I barely edged out last season - just got the big ol' ban.

It's that same guy who 'claimed' there was a game bug that made him spend 500k instead of 50k.
