So some weeks ago some more free time opened up and I picked up about 5 old online games (xpert 11, hattrick some others) that I played before and this was the only one that I ended up sticking with.

I think Sokker spoiled me since the 2d match display raises the bar so much more than the text play by play, or just a box score, in other online sports games.

Track King has the visual race thing going, that's probably why I kept it in my rotation.

It's not as good as Sokker for a whole lot of reasons but it's better than Hattrick etc just because you can watch the results of your training in the race.

It's not really newbie friendly, quite a few help pages to read to understand it all, but it's not rocket science either.

I recommend to anybody giving it a go is starting on a continent like Asia or Africa that is not populated all that much and beating up on bots until you get used to everything, you can move later if you want.

you can move in the offseason, I think, if it's the same as it used to be.

ok, I'm not very good but I think I got the basics down. What is your stable name?

First thing: enter two horses into two of weds league races. The cutoff point is like 9hrs from now. They are free to enter and you will get at least some income no matter what. Could be 200k+ if you win both.

You will need a jockey, a professional jockey is more expensive but better. An apprentice jockey is cheap, not as good esp at first, but can be trained and then turned professional once you think he's ready. That part is fun once you get an idea of how to approach it.

these help pages are pretty good:

this is right to a certain extent, once you get set up and can't really expand anymore it turns into like a 5 minute a day type of game for about half the week.

But there are fun bits, you just need to wait for them.

your starting horses are so much better than mine were, get a jockey and put two of them in the league races tomorrow, use the distance experience to pick the distance, like the 7yr old should run long for example.

click on the info link for a race and it says what the meters equate to in distance.

there are a lot of established stables in your league so you probably will struggle to place in races, you get money just for competing against human players in the league races though.
