Subject: Why I hate Hattrick!

2007-08-26 16:19:35
Go figure this one out...

Skills on HT go titanic and then extra-terrestrial...

That's also where the huge bump in wages comes in (titanic is pretty affordable to a good team, but you have to be careful with too many players who are ET)...

anyway... Silly me who doesn't pay much attn there played my normal starting goalie in a friendly and he got hurt (injury length would probably have been about 4 weeks - it's not as predictable there with injuries)... My backup is HORRID.

So i notice that this starting goalie is 26 and realize i have to dump him sooner or later, so may as well do it now. Skills start to degrade at 27 or so... And i am not fond of keeping players till they become worthless on the market...

This 26 year old titanic keeper with a 4-5 week injury i sell for 1,897,000 dollars.

I figure i need a better keeper, so i upgrade to ET, and buy a 21 year old... FOR 1.9M DOLLARS.

Yes, 3k more for a player who's significantly better and 5 years younger (still quite trainable, not that i'll train him at all). Oh, and the new player wasn't injured for 4-5 weeks, LOL. Single skills at HT, remember, so keeper skill is all that matters.

Lolz.

It was probably due to experience. :)

All you need is midfield anyway and SE/SP ability.

I'm top of my III whilst getting around passable in defence AND attack, but having a stupidly high midfield, along with SP/SE ability in the team.

new kid still performs better, based on stars... even with like no experience...

Anyway, had to do the changover sooner or later.

Your new players wage will increase each season over the next few seasons while the player you just sold will have his wage decrease each season for the rest of his career.

Personally, I would've stuck with the titanic keeper

Reasons being

A. titanic is cheaper
B. skill decrease doesn't start until 30

Though...I myself have an ET keeper...lol

But my upgrade was from outstanding to ET

And he was 21 with 33,000 in wages.
now he's 22 with wages of 48,000 :(

and i believe they will only keep rising

*sigh*

A) I don't need cheaper in a goalie

b) After 28 or 29, his sale value would have been approaching 0 pretty quickly. So at the point he decreases, i would have been out 2M. That's just stupid.

Well if you can afford the wages then by all means, very nicely done

An update on this - the new keeper was injured tonight. Yep that's right, 2 keeper injuries on hattrick in a 4 day period. Nice.

My titanic midfielder is bruised :(

Ok my turn. Make it to round 7 of cup, I get blown out (on purpose).. ungrateful supporters are pissed. GO figure, better to lose early on.

I lost last week (Rd-6) 6-3, but saw my supporters rise from Irritated to Calm. I was blown out the previous Sunday 6-0.

It's all about the goals scored that keeps the supporters happy.

Well 70/30 possession... 250 vs 190 hatstats and I lose... i could accept that in RL soccer and in SK.. but not in HT and the great match engine it has..
