Subject: Gold Cup 2007
I do agree US was unbelievable the first 10 minutes but they also played decent threw the half the Hejduk goal was great passing. Great vision from Donovan to see him coming in. I thought thought the game should of ended 3-2. Donovan should of put away Beasleys pass where Donovan had empty net all he had to do his one touch. Hume i thought brought a real spark to the Canadian squad with his tough play and then his goal. The controversial offside goal was should of counted Onyweu flicked it off his head and found the Canadian player but, a win is a win and can do anything about it now.I hope to see Mexico beat Guadaloupe. It would be a intense and energetic final.
I wanted to add that I thought it was classy there were no American players rolling around on the grass during the second half. Something that has happened for too often this Gold Cup. Was a good, tough, enjoyable match.
our side is usually very good about not flopping around like most flamboyant europeans do
best goal of the evening...mexico, scored by pavel pardo, playing for stuttgart fc.
Sorry Seca US caught a couple of breaks, not sure we deserved that one. Canada fought hard and played well together. My only gripe other than the officiating that went in the us's favor at the end, was the one canadian player that trucked an american during a dead ball, (not sure who was involved maybe nash?) anyways the american was setting the ball up for a free kick, though it was actually canada's kick and the player just ran up and dropped his shoulder into him.
I may be wrong about this as i saw it from behind the goal but i didn't like it.

If I'm thinking of the same play, it was Hume.
I didn't like it either, but I could see why he did it. It was Canada's freekick, down a goal with time ticking away in the second half, and the US player was standing over the ball. But the body check was absolutely excessive. :)

who won the Mexico v Guadaloupe game I was watching the Houston Dynamo v Chivas USA game?
Mexico 1 - Guadaloupe nil
I predicted 3-0. Thought Mexico had a distinct aerial advantage they would be able to parlay into a couple of goals. As mentioned earlier in the thread, the Mexico was a beautiful strike from ~25 yards.
