Greetings. I’m Seca - Canada’s current NT manager - and I’m running for re-election.
I am passionate about Sokker, and passionate about the Canadian team. I’ve seen every match they’ve played - many 2 or more times. I make a point of watching them play live, even if it means getting up at a weird hour - it doesn’t matter if I’m the coach or if I have players involved. I could be wrong, but I consider myself the team’s biggest fan.
I have a record of success with my club team. This past season marked my 8th CPL title, and 4th Voyageur cup. This success is built in part on good players, in part by tactical diversity and execution, and in part by continued energy and enthusiasm for the game.
I have 6 seasons of experience at the National level - 4 with Canada, 2 with New Zealand. In each of those seasons I have striven to provide strong communication, tactical flexibility, and a long-view of player development.
This past season was a disappointment for the NT. Though (IMO) Canada was only out-played twice (first Lithuania match, USA friendly), the team managed only an 8-1-4 record.
I’ve coached a fair bit of hockey and soccer in real life. One of the things I learned coaching is that a coach can put the players in a position to win, but ultimately it’s up to the players to win the game.
I feel I put our players in a position to win each game (except USA), and I am satisfied with the job I’ve done. If you agree, I ask that you support me. If not, consider another candidate. :)

Do you think you could have done?

I anticipated the wing play from the US, but rather then play 5 at the back I went with 4. The wide Canadian defenders weren't in optimal positions to make plays - and the US wingers were very effective. (I under-estimated the U21 US wingers - a mistake I probably wouldn't have made had it been the senior teams).
I went with 3 central midfielders hoping to control the middle of the pitch. The 3rd mid didn't really add much - that body would have been far more useful in the back-line.
My throw-ins were also poor - which was partly my fault for not varying them (went with all line throws instead of a mix of line & squares), and partly a good call by the oppossing manager who clearly expected line throws. :)

I have to say, that has to be one of the most well written speeches i've ever seen.
Yup, excellent speech, Seca. You have my vote and I think you're a lock for the job. For all that, I enjoy looking through the list of hopefuls from other countries. Didn't one of them get a vote last election?!!
I second that motion :p
Seriously Seca, I believe this has got to be Canada's year. best of luck :)

I think sweepstakes should be started on what will go wrong for Seca in this WC though ;).
Argh. Don't start. You brought this up last election ... and look what happened. Personally, I blame you for most of our misfortune. :D
Actually, that is kind of true.
Was England where despite a poor and wrong tactic you lost anyway. And the WC you had with NZ - Watts being sent off was another factor!
This time around no doubt it will be an unfair victory for the USA like the first WC - you know it makes sense ;).

I see you rigged the election to get 100% again ;).
I'm fairly certain this is the first time I've got 100%. :) Congrats to you on your re-election.
I would like to thank the Canadian community for their support. Without getting too sentimental, this past year IRL has been the most difficult of my life. Sokker might seem an unhealthy obsession, but for me it's been a much needed escape. Managing the NT has been a great distraction for me.
I will do my best in the upcoming season. As always, I will appreciate any suggestions or feedback from the community.
I will not seek re-election at the end of this season.
Thanks again for the support! :D
