Yes I think giving the youngsters some playing time is a great idea :)

I am for U-21

I am for U-21. The senior team is going to play in the WC, give opportunity to the youngsters to play

This poll is rubbish.

I want to vote. Where is the third option?

What about under 23, u-20, commonwealth cups, francophonie cups, concacaf cups and under 17 cups. gibbage, I will call you mr; you are right - there is a third option (and a fourth) (and a fifth)...lets try something different.

Go vote in your own poll.

Oh wait, you can't vote in that one either. :D

Those would all be under the "no" option. :)

The problem, as I see it, is that it's possible none of those other tournaments may run (some of those have never been organized in Sokker AFAIK). It's a fair bit of effort to organize one of these things, and it's a little thankless - there tends to be a lot of bitching that goes on behind the scenes. The U21 is the big one ... it draws the majority of teams, which makes it harder to get something else off the ground.

Our U21 team has some excellent prospects on it. Lemieux, Foster, Fluet, Verville are all on their way to cracking the senior team at some point. The strikers are all young (20) - so I haven't been able to gauge their rate of progression, but there is some definite promise there too. I think the little training bonus would be effectively used by this group. Plus it's probably only a 3-4 match commitment. I can't see getting very far with the U21 defense.

We had a really good crop of now 22 year olds. Biron, Sebrango, Ferranti and Ribeiro all look to be first teamers for the seniors in a few seasons. We don't want to overlook this group. But if we make a point of playing the rest of our friendlies unregulated, then we can give them most of the attention they deserve.

I'm not really picky either way. I haven't voted yet, so I don't know what the poll is saying. Hopefully it will provide some consensus.

Thanks for that info. It sounds very much that the u-21 is the best organized option going. I would change my vote and vote in favour of the u21 tournament.

Looks like pretty strong consensus. I'll sign us up. :)
