So going into the final round, everyone is alive! :D If any of the following 6 win this leg, the title is theirs! If anyone else wins, they join the tie-breaking extravangza.

What do you have planned for a massive tie breaker?

It's in the first post. Will have to go back through the results and see who's got the most 2nd place finishes.

But I'm optimistic someone will take it clean. ;)

Heehee. I'd like to call you a "dark horse", but I think your more of a dark turtle at this point. :P You can still be a spoiler. :)

Turkey


1. Canada will score the first goal.
No. Turkey opened the scoring in minute 24, as Turkish striker Hatim beat both Bradshaw and Fichaud before making a nice pass to set up the goal.

2. A foul will be called before a goal is scored.
Yes. A Turkish defender fouled Iginla in minute 2. There was a yellow card handed out to a Turkish mid in minute 3. No scoring until minute 24.

3. Canada will be leading by 2 at half time.
No. Canada was down by 1 at half-time.

4. Canada will be leading by 3 at full time.
No. Two unanswered goals by Turkey gave them a 1 goal win.

5. Canada will hit the woodwork more often then Turkey.
No. Only one shot off the woodwork, and it was Turkish,

6. Turkey will commit more fouls then Canada.
No. Canada got clobbered in many of the tech vs. defending duels, and received an alarming 9 fouls.

7. Turkey will be called off-side more often then Canada.
No. My count was 6 against Canada, 4 against Turkey. I intentionally had Wang a little further upfield, and he got caught a number of times.

8. Caron will have more assists then Iginla.
No. Both scored a goal - but Iginla was the only one to register an assist - which was actually on Caron’s goal.

9. Canada will have 12 shots or more.
No. Canada had some trouble breaking down the defense, and only registered 9 shots. Wang had a couple of chances where he was in excellent shooting position, but elected not to shoot.

10. A Canadian substitute will make the score sheet (goal, assist or foul).
No. I reduced the chances of this a little by screwing up the final substitute. None of the 3 subs had much influence on the match.

TIE BREAKER - minute of the final goal. No duplicates please! :)

So ... we need the tie-breaker. The winner will be the manager from these 7 who has the most 2nd place finishes. If that does not resolve the tie, I'll look at 3rd place finishes, and so on, until the tie is broken.
