I was poking around the IIs today, and was shocked to see Real Hawkes have yet to concede this season - it's week 10! I've never really considered them a defensive powerhouse. Pretty impressive. :)

We havent conceded a goal,yet this season although the Tsyndicated game was 1-0 affair. Still we are far behind Surrey in goal difference for the only autopromotion spot:(

Congratulations to the new CPL champs! DB Rovers won all the games they should have, and a few they probably shouldn't have. But the title is well earned. Players like Krech, Faria and Canizalez shook off some long standing mediocre form, and with Arbonnier really lit it up. 56 goals for is very impressive considering the quality of opposition and a stingier ME. Well done!

Real Hawkes were within 22 minutes of their clean-sheet season. :P Pretty impressive nonetheless. Congrats to Surrey on their strong play and free ticket back to the CPL, and to all the other divisional winners. :)

The CPL Q-matches could be interesting. Anything can happen in a one-off. :) I'd say the 3 incumbents are favoured, though Black&Oil is having some big injury and suspension problems and may be the most vulnerable. Real Hawkes and HL Football put up player ratings that suggest then can compete in the CPL.

My team problem is in the penalty boxes.

Good midfielders can make ordinary strikers look pretty darn good. :) But you probably do need a couple more defenders like Jarczyk before HL Football can fight in the top half of the CPL.

I've bought my ticket for Jalea of Scarberia - Real Hawkes. On paper Jalea of Scarberia has the upper hand with stronger defense and strikers. Real Hawkes perhaps with an advantage in midfield (tho Ribeiro is great and Rantolo and ibn-Khalid are both under-rated). But Jalea of Scarberia has been snake-bit much of the season, and Real Hawkes' BiH International goal keeper looks like he could be a game-stealer on any given Sunday. Should be good. :)

That was all that there was in the tank! Real Hawkes had their best team out today and tried to break down the Jalea rock solid def with two wide wingers. It worked for one goal, but we conceded two:( Congratulations to Jalea of Scarberia.

It was an excellent tactical decision by Real Hawkes to attack with width. Jalea had a sufficient tackle vs. technique advantage that even with the space, the Real Hawke wingers were often reeled in. Jalea of Scarberia's tactic was also good - found the seams in the RH defense on a few occasions. The striker injury probably didn't help Real Hawkes much. Lemieux and Ribeiro were both stand-outs IMO. Real Hawkes are a young and rapidly improving team - they will be in the CPL before long.

I'm not sure what to say about the Snowhares - Bonavista match. 20 shots and a 63-37 territorial advantage should get you at least 1 goal. :( Tomalak (Bonavista keeper) was sensational. Hares keeper also made some nice stops. I was really impressed with Korzym who played left defense for Bonavista. Snowhares right mid saw a lot of the ball, and Korzym did a very solid job on him. Also made a clean from-behind tackle on a full-flight Amado - pretty spectacular.

I know what to say. This was daylight robbery and it just wasn't meant to happen. I had no intention of winning this game. Two of my mids were reserve defenders who don't play mid, (but who are still better than my reserve mids...). I did play most of my starters just to see how far behind CPL levels we are. This was not a good result for 'hares or Bonavista. I almost feel I should apologize to raskal because his is a genuine CPL team. Bonavista is a good div.II squad but we don't have the stars or the depth for the big league. I think we better come out with a new logo that says 'Just Visiting'!

Looking at the stats, this is scary. Total random result. Reminds me of HT. This game should have been 4 or 5-1
for Snowhares. I can't figure how Amado, Hyacith, Nulle and co. did not score a single goal on 20 shots. And these superstars are now going to be playing second div. clubs next season. Oh well, it will be a training season for Bonavista I guess....

hehe I had a bad feeling about this match from the start. But am I little miffed at 20 shots & no goals to show plus Lauth's freekick that hit the bar at the 20th minute. Offsides are so hard for me to figure out still. At minute 38 it looked as though the brazilian ghost Dorvalino was caught but he had a great scoring chance. And a minute or two later there was an offside that looked fine with me :s I had four players (not including Kisieliński either) with marks at 60. Tip of my hat goes to Korzym for sure. He caused some real havoc on his side of the pitch. Olimpo is a tad bit slow still but even Verville had some trouble too. Good luck next season numerosix :)

Bonavista may not be out of their league. The team make up is reminiscent of Third Lanark AC's when they first promoted, and they were able to compete. They have a couple respectable strikers in Leopold and 'the Ghost'. From what I saw in this match, I have under-estimated the defense. Tomalak seems to have some "game-stealer" in him. :) Ideally it may have worked out better to give that young defense another season to improve before trying the CPL, but I think Bonavista will win some matches.

Are you suggesting 'the Ghost' has some supernatural advantage with the linesmen? :D There were a few close calls - sometimes the match viewer doesn't show things perfectly.

Couldn't help but think Abbas Musa was conspicuous by his absence in this match. He always had a knack for scuttling those breaks. Seems none of the Lagomorph defenders have filled his big shoes completely.

Still a very tough result. I'm sure I'd have tossed some lawn furniture around if it had been me. :)

Clayden isn't too far off from Big Carl skill & is much quicker however experience must really does make a difference. I still can't explain the drought of goals :/ I know Amado form was off (injury too) but that still doesn't explain the rest of my attackers. That was a little disheartening. It's funny that I'm back in II.03 again :D
