Subject: Voyageur Cup - Season 13

Seca [del] to All
We get underway this evening. At least we are supposed to. There is a bug with match income in a lot of todays matches - some teams appear to have lost millions (by playing a match), others gained millions. Not sure how it will be dealt with - we might end up delayed. Transfers from today may also be affected.

So it looks like we are game on! This round is a little ... dull. Most teams on the right are far better then the team on the left. Usually a 15 or 20 goal performance somewhere.

I've got a number of front-line players in for training reasons, so I'm hoping for an uneventful encounter with my bot. Might be notable that fresh youth Nolan Kampa will make his debut up front. :)

Well, don't know about the rest of ya, but my match was a little comical. Only managed to convert 20% of my shots against an average (at best) keeper. I think he made 20+ saves, but I didn't keep count.

Didn't get a good vibe about Kampa. Had a wide open net in minute 3 and missed the cage from 3 yards out. Methinks he lacks the killer instinct. :)

My match was interesting in a statistical way:

- I was one of five home teams to win. (I'm guessing the higher seed has to play away?)
- He had 51% possession but 66% of the play was in his half.

The real difference in this match was his rotten keeper versus my shiny new one.

36-1 shots 4-0 win . 2nd stringers played. Last cup I went out in first round using 2nd stringers

Watched your match. :) The ratings were pretty even - I thought your tactic gave you the edge. Talbot was good for your opponent - but your center back (Solis?) managed to do enough most times. Good team effort by your side. I liked Belanger's game - even though his passing wasn't great in this match.

Congrats on the win! Not many left side teams go through in this round. Unfortunately your reward might be a pummeling in the next round. :P

Heehee. After looking at my stats I immediately checked the 'Hares. Truly disappointing. A least you were up against a very good - excellent keeper. Not that he should be a deity against the likes of Amado. :P

I actually think that stamina is really what won this one for me - 61% of play in his half before halftime, 71% after. Plus having the better keeper, he stopped a couple solid shots in the first half, to keep me in it until the other guy's players got tired. The other player appears to be inactive so his players are probably starting to deteriorate.

I was trying for a trap defense, but his striker was playing too far back for the tactic to work the way I had intended; but it did have the side effect of taking the play to him. I am definitely keeping the tactic and massaging it some more.

I like Solís; he's only 18 and has a bright future once I get his pace up. Best 66K I ever spent. Belanger is "weak of passing" but otherwise a nice midfielder. My best passer had to sit the past 2 weeks out with an injury, but he's back on Sunday (and probably Wednesday too, unless he gets injured again!)

Good luck all in round 2.

Not a lot that was unexpected. Partizan 74 had a potentially tricky match - no problems once they brought in the calvary. :)

My squad didn't draw great in the next round. Tho Ben`s eleven - New West Stampedos looks like it could be the feature match of the round.

Well, we're a little vulnerable this week - all B-squad for training purposes. If Laufer fields his A-team, it could be pretty interesting. :)
